    Nitrox on BC Ferries

So did I... until I couldn't find reference to enriched air. Cheers, Bill.

    Nitrox on BC Ferries

Hi Dave, I can't find any reference to enriched air in the pdf file. But the html site does provide reference, BC Ferries - Dangerous Cargo. Cheers, Bill.

    Octo vs no octo

Get an octo. Regs fail, o-rings fail... it happens, are you prepared for it? I won't dive with a buddy who didn't have an octo. You may want to do a search on 'long hose' and 'bungied second'. A great alternative to carrying an octo in the magical triangle. Cheers, Bill.

    Southern Alberta Divers?

Can't help you off hand with southern Alberta divers. But I would like to know what it is like diving in Waterton. That area is beautiful and I've always wondered. Cheers, Bill.

    Waterloo/Guelph and surronding area divers

I went out to the UW pool session 2 or 3 times with Dean's last winter. It was good. I'm hoping to get out to his December session. Cheers, Bill.

    Waterloo/Guelph and surronding area divers

IIRC, NTD might have something going on now, or at least in the next week or two. It looked pretty good if you live in the area. Cheers, Bill.

Kelvin Grove and Porteau Night Dive

Great photos Deep. The octo looked like a decent size in the first photo, then quite tiny in the second. Very cool. Cheers, Bill.

    Daniel Harrington Memorial

Very nice. Hopefully I'll get a chance to dive the Cape Breton again and I'll look for it. Daniel was great guy and good teacher. Cheers, Bill.

    Invermere Diving

You may or may not need a 4x4 to get in. Depends on how the roads hold up over the winter/spring. I was last up there in '93, can't remember if we used a car or 4x4. If I remember correctly, it is a bit of a drive on the back roads and you'll need good directions, mostly for getting the right...

    Invermere Diving

Hey Rob, Summer lake is in the Rocky Mountains. You go to Fort Steele and then up the Bull River pass the turn off to Fisher Peak. It's beautiful up there. I don't remember a crater lake in the Purcells. Any other name come to mind? Cheers, Bill.

How often does a regulator NEED to be serviced?

What this graph is missing are the spikes after servicing. Typical for any piece of equipment, not just regulators. For those of you who do your own servicing, where do you get the service parts from? ie., Aqualung regs. Cheers, Bill.

I enjoyed that. Thanks. Some people, and it looks like Herb was one, have the gift of oration and can inspire others through it. Cheers, Bill.

    DIR "Poster" or similar?

I've been giving this a lot of thought lately. I think Home Depot's mantra of 'Do it right' is the way to go. Just haven't figured out where to mount my skill saw. It'll be great for containing the long hose, but I keep having to replace my drysuit. Sorry, no actual poster for this though...

Tank Advice - First Time Buying

To follow up on your question about size, I'm 6'2" and 200 lbs. I haven't doubled 130s up yet. I know several people who dive double 130s. They aren't tossing these tanks around but they get help when its time to lift them. Bill.

Tank Advice - First Time Buying

My biased suggestion would be HP 130s. I'm 6'2" and I trim out beautifully in my single 130. And getting out after a 60 min dive with 1000 or more psi still in the tank, again, beautiful. There is nothing wrong with having an excess amount of gas. Almost forgot to add, 8" or 7.25", who...

    Sixgill at Whytecliff

Hi Ness, We, the family, arrive August 16th for two weeks. I'll be bringing my gear and hope to get wet, the more the better. But, it is a family vacation so I'll have to keep the kids occupied as well. Are you up for some dives? Cheers, Bill.

Octo on a necklace ... with a twist

Last year I did some air sharing drills with a diver who was on a standard setup, whereas I use a 7' hose and bungied second. The other diver doesn't dive much and skulls with his hands to maintain their orientation in the water and aid with bouyancy control. When I donated my long hose to...

Advice needed for August 18-20 (Vancouver Island or other location)

I'm flying in to Vancouver on Aug 16th for a couple of weeks. If you end up in Vancouver and I can dive on those days, then I'll be able to show you some good dive sites. However, I won't know if I can dive on your days for a while yet - possible family commitments to take care of first...
