I have two options for water temps. Below 80 degrees is for a dry suit. Above 80 is for a 3 mil.

LOL Yes. The fewer divers on the dive, the more I generally enjoy the dive. I like to get away from groups of people when I am on vacation, not socialize with them.

The OP has, as always here, received great advice and I agree with much of it. I say, buy what you want. I have happily purchased about 85% of my gear online and the other 15% from about 10 shops spread out across the world. A few have been very nice and most have been filled with "macho"...

Check the swell forecast before you go to Leo Carillo. I have not had good luck there. Many days it is better for surfers. Leo C. is a very easy dive and close to the water assuming you pay to enter and park, but the surf can frequently be hard for even advanced divers with little beach entry...

I agree with NWG above. To add, if budget is a concern, IMHE Hawaii is more expensive than Bonaire once you get there, especially if you compare number of dives to money spent. That said, Hawaii is way better topside than Bonaire for the most part. I could go on and on about how amazing...

The only time my regs have ever failed is just after servicing. Doesn't seem to matter who I bring them to. I do mine about every 2-3 years begrudgingly and treat them with care and respect in between servicing. My s600 never seems to need servicing while my s500 usually shows reduced...

I was there on Monday in the early afternoon and believe I may have seen the snorkelers looking for her. I remember thinking that those snorkelers didn't look like tourists. There was also a small group of people on the shore who appeared to be stressed out. I do hope they find her.

Yeah, I agree. I was a mess in my OW class. Honestly, looking back, I am surprised I didn't hurt myself. How I was using my fins was the last this on my mind and likely my teacher's too. It shouldn't be that way, but, in this day and age of faster and cheaper, it will continue likely.

I agree with the above comments. Please bump me in those conditions. I have been diving with a new diver lately and I have to keep reminding him to stay closer to me when conditions are bad.
