Anyone know the D2000 sync time?

There was no particular practical application, just a theoretical question. Ed.

Anyone know the D2000 sync time?

I was wondering what the sync time for the Inon D2000 on an optical cable was. If say its 1/800 sec does this mean that higher shutter speeds can not be used with the strobe? Cheers, Ed.

Thats pretty much the system I have been looking at, I was going to go for the Inon stuff as I liked the look of the lens adapter plus I though that since I was going to go for a D2000 then it might be best that the trigger assembly was made by the same people also. Ed.

A few pics from Burma Liveaboard trip last week

What settings are you using for that last shot to get such a colour saturated foreground but a pitch black background? Ed.

    PADI Certification

Its a little more involved than that. I forget exactly how many skills there are to go through but I think its about 20 in total. Everything from a mask clearance (which is repeated in all the open water sessions) to fin pivots and neutral bouyancy skills plus the 5 point decents and ascents, I...

Is it supposed to be a secret?!?

I actually leave on the evening of the 14th so I will be here until about 5pm. If not then my email is ( edneeves@hotmail.com ). A thought about the flash, you can actually make it stronger or weaker so maybe try tuning it doen a little, if that doesn't help than move back a little and try...

    which strobe

I should conceed that the above option is by no means the cheapest option and there are plenty of budget systems out there, but for the Sony P150 this probably represents one of the best semi-pro options around... ... but it will damage the wallet the best part of $800 - $900 (excluding...

    which strobe

I was lead to believe that the Inon D2000 works with the Sony P150. I found a link to pretty much the exact setup I described earlier. Check it out and see if it suits: http://inonamerica.com/news.php?news_id=24&newscat=0 I also checked the PDF manual for the P150 and here's what it says...

Is it supposed to be a secret?!?

I did stoney in November with a 5mm 2 piece Semi Dry and froze my *** off! Your brave if you go ahead with it, but I suppose its a good reason to get stuck into those diver tows, it might heat you up a bit! plus there is always a good old cup of tea afterwards. I think I am going to try the...

    which strobe

I have been researching this at the moment so I thought I would let you know what I have found out. I am using the P150 with the Sony MPK-PHB housing. This and all Sony housings do not allow for direct syncing of the strobe so you will need to get a strobe that will work optically. This takes...

    Camera accessories

I understand what your saying, and I do conceed that the internal flash does have its uses but I have seen the evidence that a decent strobe can bring to the table. Its a pretty hefty investment for that little jump up but it seems to be worth it in my eyes. Its just a geek thing I think, I...

    Some strobe help please?

Thanks very much. I don't suppose you would know of any resources for the optical trigger? Ed.

    Some strobe help please?

I am currently using a Sony P150 with a MPK-PHB housing and am trying to do a bit of research on a strobe setup for this camera, any help would be much appreciated. 1. Is syncing the strobe with the internal flash the only way of triggering the external strobe? 2. If the above method is...

    Camera accessories

Do you have any suggestions for a strobe setup on the MPK housings. I understand that you can get a fitting for the lens that allows for an optic fibre which can control the flash. Is this what you have or do you have another control method. Ed.

Is it supposed to be a secret?!?

Don't blame you, I have tried Stoney Cove a few times but I don't have a dry suit and "Brass Monkeys" is an understatement. Thats why I'm emmigrating to Australia in 3 weeks. Should be a bit toastier! Ed.

Is it supposed to be a secret?!?

Ouch, that WAL is a pretty hefty investment. I am not sure what the immediate benefits are to be honest. The strobe sounds like a good idea though, I can definately see a situation where the internal one is not going to do the job. How have you been getting on with the manual settings? Ed.

Is it supposed to be a secret?!?

I thought that a few more people would be partaking in this forum but I am surprised to find the pickings rather thin. I am assuming that this is because all of those lovely magazine covers are actually shot with varying forms of Sony camera's and their resepective housings and we are not...

    Dangerous BC witnessed this weekend!!!

This is an issue when designs get more complicated. I am sure its an isolated situation and the majority of the BC's work perfectly. We need to get back to simplicity, hmm maybe DIR has a point! Ed.
