Diving Lo Jolla Cove Oct 11

That's too far ahead for me to know what I'm doing that weekend, post again or send me a PM the Monday before if you haven't hooked up with anyone by then, and I'll let you know what my schedule is like. What day are you heading back. If you plan on driving back Saturday after diving, remember...

    San Diego Rocks!!!!

.... and a great buddy you were, glad to spend the time underwater with ya! We didn't see a wealth of life down there, as we often do, but we certainly saw more than sand and sand dollars. ;)

    San Diego Rocks!!!!

Thanks Billy. I did overhear an occasional comment about "nothing but sand and sand dollars". :D It's all about going slow and looking for life, rather than waiting for it to swim by and smack you in passing.

    San Diego Rocks!!!!

Hi Rick, it was great to see you again, glad you had a great time. You left before the burgers, dogs , sausage and carne asada...... what were you thinking? :D Here's a link to my album from this morning and a few samples. krowsea/LJS 08-24-08 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

    Cardiff State Beach

OK.... how 'bout if I throw this out there. Assuming you're talking about South Cardiff State Beach, this is not a dive I would recommend for new divers. You have two points of entry for this shallow reef diver, neither is easy. You can park at the South end of the parking lot of the State...

    Need recommendations for SD dive

There are a couple of Sport Chalets near where you're staying, and they have a fairly large rental department, especially the one on Midway, because they have an on-site pool. Here's a link to the three closest. http://www.sportchalet.com/corp/index.jsp?page=storeLocator&zip=92106 The...

SDSU Lobster study equipment in L.J. Cove

From: Kevin Hovel <hovel@sciences.sdsu.edu> Over the month of September, biologists from San Diego State will be monitoring the movements of spiny lobsters in the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. The research forms part of our effort to determine if the reserve is large enough to promote a...

The Pasley "HURRY HOME" August '07 Dive Reports

I'm sure one of the 2 dive crew will chip in with a report from the Shores this morning. I could only do one today, but I saw lots of cool stuff. Here's a link to the two page album; http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v116/krowsea/LJS%2008-11-07/ I tried to label the creatures above each pic...

Night Diving at La Jolla Cove

Hi LittleFish, Good choice, I love diving the Cove at night. I wouldn't suggest leaving your gear on the grass though. It works for day dives, but not for night. A night dive at the Cove means you are gearing up at and returning to your car / truck. A couple of things to think about for...

Wrinkles May '07 Dive Planning Thread - La Jolla

Even more so because the Wolf Eel is actually a really long and fairly ugly fish, and not actually an Eel. Hopefully Terry will post some of his pics here. He has some really great shots of the Wolf Eel from that dive that are much clearer than mine, including an awesome one from a dive a few...

Wrinkles May '07 Dive Planning Thread - La Jolla

Ohh.... I think Laguna Sea Sports is far enough away. This dive is at La Jolla Shores, so I imagine LSS is probably a 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive north of San Diego. :D

    Chamber Day 2007 pics

Hi nereas, and thanks! I use an Olympus 4000 in an Ikelite housing. I don't have a wide angle adapter, it's just the camera in the housing with the internal flash, I turned the flash off for the distance shots. As far as ISO, I don't know. I keep it set on "autopilot" with aperture priority...
