    Underwater Housing Wanted

There is one function on the 50d that is not accessible using the C40 housing and that is live view shooting mode. But I never use that. Otherwise all functions are accessible. I should add this housing uses the Type 3 ports. I'm not selling my ports because I use them on my new housing. The...

    TSandM -- Lynne Flaherty

Just saw this and I'm so sorry for your loss. I haven't been on the boards in awhile and had never met Lynne in person, but I always enjoyed reading her posts, full of wisdom and reason, something not often found on the internet. My prayers and condolences.

Bring camera along without taking a UW photo course

I think the most important "skill" you need for underwater photography is remembering to check your SPG. Oushing a camera and shooting pictures is harder work than just swimming around. Photographers often burn through their gas quicker and push their gas consumption looking for one last shot...

    zipper case

They make hard cases with pressure relief valves or you could remove the o-ring. But I find for mosy items a Pelican case is a bit overkill. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk

    Ice Diving Lake Erie Wreck

Here is a link to a story I recently published on ice diving a Lake Erie wreck. It's a great little wreck and we had a blast diving her. Hope to get back out there soon. A cool 34° plunge into Lake Erie - Toledo Blade Here is the direct link to the photo gallery -...

Strobe or Wide Angle Lens--Which to buy first for Great Lakes shipwreck photography?

I would recommend a wide angle first as well. You can get some great ambient light shots here in the lakes. But it's difficult to shoot without one. You can shoot some detail shots on our wrecks such as deadeyes and capstans etc without a wide angle but there is not nearly as much to shoot...

Port Sanilac Charter Monday May 13th

Hi all. I'm putting together a charter out of Port Sanilac, Mi. on Monday May 13th. Yes, Monday. We're going to try to dive two famed wrecks from the Great Storm of 1913 - the Charles Price and the Regina. I'll be shooting photos for a magazine story I'm working on which is why the timing is a...

Going to Costa Maya in April

Check out Maya Palms Resort. They do cruisers as well. I stayed there for a week last year and it was fantastic. Their DM is awesome. Diving is from a panga and can be deep. The outer spur and groove reef is beautiful and on the deep side and the inner reef breaks the surface in some areas.

    Lake Okoboji Dive Shop

Hello, I'm researching a story and am wondering if anyone knows the name of the dive shop that used to be in the Emporium at Lake Okoboji in the late 70's early 80's? It was a Scubapro dealer. I've sent messages to the current shop at the lake, and a few other places and am waiting to hear. I...

    Which destination next?

So you've hit all the big dive destinations in the Great Lakes, Tobermory, Straits, Munising, Whitefish, Thunder Bay, Kingston, etc, etc. to name a few. What's the one dive destination in the GL that'd you'd hit next, excluding Isle Royale(which I only exclude since it's a liveaboard)? I'm...

    UW Photography Courses

Where are you located? The best thing to do in my opinion is to become proficient on land before going underwater. Its much easier to master the basics of phototgraphy when you don't have to worry about running out of air. Many community colleges have good courses taught by professionals, not...

I'm selling my Dive Rite 3100 ICE regulator setup - DR-RG3100ICE. It has about 20 dives on it. It's a DIN regulator but comes with the DR K-Valve adapter. The ICE version is the cold water kit. Been out of the photo scene for a while - appears that prices have gotten worse...

Actually it's more difficult to understand how pro photographers CAN afford the latest and greatest the way rates have dropped. Nowadays pros are competing with amateurs who have lots of disposable income and are willing to work for a credit. And please

    Dive Rite VoyagerPac Travel BC

Ok, I'm back in town so I can post photos. I decided to include the Dive Rite Rite Source octo with this BC. It has about 35 dives on it and is in perfect working order but it's still the buyers responsibility to get it checked out. This BC has one freshwater and 13 salt water dives on it. I...
