    Drysuit for Monterey Bay

I bought my CLX 450 at Dolphin a couple of years ago and they thru in a dry suit course for free. Got use to it right in their pool and then did a couple of dives with them off the Cypress Sea for the course. DUI controls the pricing so it should be the same price no matter where you buy it...

WARNING: Buying gear online, please be aware!!!

I get all my gear from a LDS. If there's a problem I know who they are and where to find them. They are small businesses trying to survive. Support your LDS. Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any dive shop.

(Penetration) Wreck Diving With Single Tanks

I specifically asked if it was a penetratation class after which I was told they would be using 80cf tanks. When I expressed my concern on the use of such small tanks I was told they do it all the time. I'm just not sure who "they" is. I don't think they will be carrying even so much as a pony...

(Penetration) Wreck Diving With Single Tanks

A LDS I know is going to be conducting a Wreck Diving Penetration Course using single 80cf tanks. From everything I've read about entering overhead environments this is "not" a good idea. Also they will not be using long hoses or carrying any additional tanks with them. I have decided "not" to...

    blow to the HEAD

What did you do, a giant stride off a cruise ship? :) Incorrect facial angulation, does that mean you dove in face first with a mask on? :) Most of us do giant strides (feet first) from about 6 ft or so at the "most" depending on the boat. Back rolls are done from much closer...:)

    Dive Internships

The saying goes that having an AOW card does not make you an advanced diver, "experience" does. Taking excellerated courses will not make you a good instructor, having the experience along with your education will. You owe it to your future students! Now go have fun diving...:)

    Hello, I'm new here.

Then may I be the first to welcome you to ScubaBoard! By your profile though you're not exactly "new" to diving so don't be surprised if the moderators move this thread to another forum like "Introductions and Greets". You'll like it here. There are many forums for discussion, so have fun! :)

    What is drift diving exactly?

Try going head first and kick down for about 10 feet, then you should have no problem drifting down the rest of the way assuming your not underweighted.

    Diving manners?

When I "finally" discovered my proper weighting it was "then" that I discovered just how hard I had been working. With too much weight I was always struggling with buoyancy and constantly adjusting. With "just enough", it was effortless. The "less" air I put in my BC meant more air for my lungs...
