    Used ProPlus 2 Service

If your PP2 has the Quick Disconnect, the service will include taking the QD apart and replacing the small o rings in there and checking that mechanism for proper function. Aside from that, its a battery change.

Mask has discolored... is it still okay to use?

I have a Tusa Visualator mask that had been in storage for a while. When I got it out, I discovered the clear silicone around the mask has discolored in a lot of places to a brownish color. It seems to seal and the silicone is still soft and flexible as it seems it should be even though its kind...

Oceanic Pro Plus 2 or Aeris Atmos AI

I have been flip-flopping between the Aeries AI and the Oceanic PP2 myself and can't decide. I have been leaning toward the Oceanic because of the larger numbers and the fact that the graphs have more incriments which give you a clearer picture of O2 loading etc. Another thing I like about the...

Comment by 'pw1981' in media 'So, you want to be a Dive Master?'

Great photo. As to the other person's comments. it depends largely on the animal species and local laws. As an example, it is illegal to swim to a manatee and bother them, but if they come to you it is lawful and allowable to play with them as long asthey are free to leave of their own...

    dacor darwin problems

Mine eats batteries like candy also. Personally, after fiddling with other brands, the Darwin is among the most difficult to use and I am eager to replace it but YMMV. I reccomend getting some of the e2 Energizer batteries for some extra life.

    Dacor Darwin Problem

I also have a Darwin and it basically is a crap computer. Unfortunately, I didn't learn this until a few months back when I realized how much better the other computers out there were. I got some bad advice when shopping. I have experienced the problem you are having, but only when I rely on...

    Excellent! Thank you

Should I keep or return My Tusa X-pert splits?

My uncle, whom I dive with quite often, has a pair of these and I have used them a couple times. I relly liked them when diving off a boat or in fresh water. For long surface swims, my Tusa Imprex fins are much better for me but I don't think the Xperts would really hinder me, just take me a...

    Tusa Masks

To echo everyone above, I love my Visualator mask. If I wear it for hours and hours in a day it bugs the bridge of my nose a little bt nothing serious given the visual advantages. I had fog issues for a while, but it works well with no trouble now. I have found that the Sea Vision Gold (gel)...

XS Scuba Valves - what size o-ring?

4? I know of two that appear to be the same size. I am looking for the Main O-ring that is "exposed" on the valve. Which appears to be the same size as the one on the back of the yoke adapter. Thanks! :)

XS Scuba Valves - what size o-ring?

I am trying to find out what size o-ring is used in the XS Scuba VA200 Pro Valve. These are the only o-rings I really need to have on hand so I want to just get a big ol' package of this size rings. I emailed XS Scuba and they sent me a reply that I "can by there rings at my local dive...

How many tanks do you own?

I have two tanks of my own: both are PST E7-100's. I love em. I have easy access to about 30 Al80's and a few Al63's should I eve need them - a good friend of mine is an instructor and has tanks out the wazoo. My unlce also has matching tanks to mine. I can dive for days without going to the...

How to reset a M1 mares computer?

If the manual for the Mares computer sucks as much as the Dacor manual for the identical Darwin unit I doubt you will find much useful info. I had to learn my Darwin on the fly because the manual is very poor. IIRC, the manual does not cover a complete reset.

    Tusa M-14

Another vote for the Tusa M-14. I love mine! No issues with leaking and it has a great field of vision.

    BCD's for BIG guys

The Oceanic Probe QLR is available in an XXL and will fit you very well. As a plus, the Probe is a very solid BC with excellent features.

Has anyone ever used the upgrade program from Aeries or Oceanic?

In looking at dive computers, I see that both Aeris and Oceanic offer upgrade programs that allow you to upgrade a console from another manufacturer to one of their units at a discout price. It also says this upgrade can be done at a LDS if they are willing to do so. Links: Oceanic...

Air Integrated: To hose or not to hose, that is the question.

Thanks for all the input from everyone! I have been reading old posts on all the aforementioned models and I have read the users manuals for all of them on the manufacturers sites and have narrowed the field to the Aeris Elite and the Oceanic Pro Plus 2. Aso fo right now, I am leaning toward...

    Observation about this forum... curious?

LOL. I gotcha! FWIW, I have used a system that was very close to a BP&W - it was a Dive Rite gizmo thing and I did not care for it at all.

    Observation about this forum... curious?

In a scenario where someone asks for comparrisons of more than one product then, by all means, you could suggest it if you have something negative to say about the specific products asked about. My statements were that these comments are intejected in EVERY post; simply replying to a BC question...

Air Integrated: To hose or not to hose, that is the question.

I am really convinced that I want a better console. I was largely influenced by a LDS employee and LDS instructor (not the same one who I took lessons from) when I purchased by Dacor Darwin console and have come to realize that I hate the darn thing. The buttons are hard to use both on land and...
