DIVI Flamingo: what is the present condition of dive pier?

Well, it's April and I'm getting "radio silience" from DIVI. Has anyone been there to witness a new dock, construction, or the lack of activity?

Question Recognizing Aeris (ATMOS 2) USB Interface with Windows 10

We have a few Aeris ATMOS 2 circa 2005 dive computers that we'd like to connect to. I think I have previosly done so early in the Windows 10 days. Now I cannot get it to recognize the interface USB Interface with Windows 10, making me think it's a driver issue. I have tried a bunch of drivers to...

Bare Reactive Leg Seals Cling Together

I have had a 7mm Reactive for a few years and the long leg seals that for silver on silver against each other have started to cling and stick together. So much as to cause damage when separated. I'm playing with silicone and talk to prevent this cling but it's a nuisance. I rinse well and hang...

    Choosing a 7mm

I agree..... I had the Arctic full suit and hooded step-in vest for years and now a Reactive with the Bare Elastek version of the same vest. I agree that it's one of the next best things to a drysuit. With aqua socks and Seasoft Stealth boots interleaved with the leg seals I feel ZERO water...

Swimming Laps to improve SAC rate

Another vote for doing laps in snorkel gear. The dead air properties of the snorkel will drive you to take long, deep, efficient breaths. I did this for a winter in my early years. I think I settled into 7 breaths per length. That same behavior will carry over to scuba and you should see a...

    Cost per Dive?

I'm mainly a local diver. With 725 dives my sunk costs are around $15.00 per dive. With mileage, chow and compressor fuel I'm probably around $50. per dive.

Should we put fork in DSS?

That may be why his URL has turned into something my browser security is pitching a fit about. Too bad, years ago we had great service from him and I was just about to recommend him to somebody.

Future Directions: Where Is Diving Going?

The optimist in me says that a vaccine, herd immunity and and improved therapeutics will wind COVID-19 down to a trivial level. Will it be 24 or 60 months, I don't know, no one knows. Lot's of businesses (resorts, stores, operators) that we have enjoyed will be gone and eventually replaced by...

Never Really Used My Gear- Should it be Serviced?

I agree with what James says and cites. From an air processing standpoint your usage is trivial. Rubber parts don't like to sit still but it's not like your stuff is ancient. Get a cylinder and make sure it all works and perform the checklist. It's possible that from resting one or both second...

The Importance of Logging your Dives. The Advantages for new divers (and old)

    Pee Tube Routing for Wetsuit

I brought this up years ago and I see a break through hasn't happened yet. Let's not call it a P-valve, a valve is not needed. When you Pee in your suit or trunks no valve is needed, we're talking about an escape path here. Why??? Well, when I drive dry it's a big advantage (health, safety and...
