wanted: compact analog backup to air-integrated wrist computer

No, "analog" is exactly what I mean. As in non-digital, non-electronic. I don't think I ever said analog didn't require a hose. I want to have a digital, wireless wrist computer as my primary, and an analog pressure/depth/compass unit as my backup. The Tusa unit that "sasscuba" posted...

stage / pony bottle SPG mounting elastic / bungee / shock cord

I might go with the "giant red rubber band" method or possibly the "snorkle keeper" method. I've tried to make a loop out of bungee/shock cord but I can't seem to make reliable loops no matter how tight I make the zip-ties. One good yank and they come undone. I've got the (I think) 1/4...

stage / pony bottle SPG mounting elastic / bungee / shock cord

That's true and I have certainly considered that option. However, keeping the hose bent in a permanent "U" is supposed to really shorten the life of the hose. The idea behind the shock cord loop is that you can unhook the SPG when you're not diving and let the hose straighten out.

stage / pony bottle SPG mounting elastic / bungee / shock cord

I'm trying to set up my first AL40 "pony" bottle. I have a setup VERY similar to the one pictured on this page... http://www.diverite.com/TecTalk/stage/07.htm ...except I don't have the shock cord on the SPG and I was wondering if anyone has good close-up pictures of how exactly to rig that...

Tank inspection sticker: expires first or last day of month?

Hmm... here's the rest of the paragraph from the site I linked above: "Fill Express will not fill any cylinder after the last day of the month in which the visual inspection or hydrostatic test expired." So I guess they're contradicting themselves somewhat.

Tank inspection sticker: expires first or last day of month?

This is probably a dumb question but the inspection sticker on a scuba tank has a month and year on it. If I have a tank that is marked with the month "July", does that mean that the sticker is good until the end of July or does it mean that the sticker is expired as of the first day of July...

Trip Report - Bahamas - Juliet Liveaboard

Oh, only about 400 or so, plus the ones that the Marine Biologist took. I'm sorting through them all, rotating and attempting to color correct as I go. Sadly, a lot of the photos were taken without a flash because backscatter was really bad so I need to do some drastic adjusting to get rid...

Trip Report - Bahamas - Juliet Liveaboard

Trip Report - Bahamas - Juliet Liveaboard [Part 2] 15 October 2005 - 21 October 2005 The boat left port around 4pm. I had been warned that the crossing from Miami to the Bahamas was kind of rough and some people get sick. I had never been sick on a boat before so I wasn't worried...

Trip Report - Bahamas - Juliet Liveaboard

Trip Report - Bahamas - Juliet Liveaboard [Part 1] 15 October 2005 - 21 October 2005 Every year, our friends take a dive trip to Cozumel in October. In early July, with the Cozumel downpayment deadline looming and the trip quickly filling up, my two dive buddies and I decided that we...

    Any news about Reef Club?

About 15 of my diving buddies were in Cozumel last week staying at the Reef Club. I haven't heard from any of them since before the trip. Does anyone have information about how the Reef Club resort fared in Wilma? Were people evacuated or did they ride out the storm at the resort? I'm...

    spring fin straps

I assume you mean a grommet like this... cableorganizer.com has every size you could ever want. I don't know what the hell the description is talking about on that page however.

    spring fin straps

This is exactly the reason I went with the non-pro version of the EZ Springs. The non-pro version has standard plastic quick connect ends. There's no danger of them falling off... I have US Divers Blades fins. The quick connect ends on the springs are actually larger and than the...

wanted: compact analog backup to air-integrated wrist computer

I am currently using an air integrated Oceanic Pro Plus 2 console computer. While I am quite happy with it, I think I'd be happier with an air integrated wireless wrist computer instead, most likely the Oceanic Atom. However, as I don't totally trust the wireless technology, I'd like to have...

Where to buy Scubapro Drysuit Hanger in the US?

No luck. I went to my local dealer here in NJ (Mar-Vel) and they claim that they aren't in the latest catalog so they can't order them. I just gave up and ordered them from the UK. The shipping ended up being only $26 for 3 so I guess it's not that bad.

getting nitrox certified while on vacation?

Thanks for all the input everyone. I think I'm going to go for it. I wonder if I need to (should?) buy my own analyzer before I go.

Where to buy Scubapro Drysuit Hanger in the US?

Does anybody know if the Scubapro Drysuit hanger is available in the US? (see attached picture) I can only find it on a UK site and the shipping would be nearly $35 for three of them.

getting nitrox certified while on vacation?

I've just booked a 7 day trip to the Bahamas on the Juliet in October... http://www.sailjuliet.com/ This will be my first time doing a liveaboard. I have NAUI AOW certification and Rescue Diver under my belt and about 70 total dives so far. I was thinking about getting Nitrox...

    Looking for liveaboard Oct 15-22

Ok, I've booked a trip on the Juliet... http://www.sailjuliet.com/ It's on the upper edge of what I wanted to spend (when you include the tip and airfare to Miami) but I've read so many glowing reviews that I'm sure that I'll be worth it.

    Looking for liveaboard Oct 15-22

Their prices aren't bad but when you add in the cost of a round trip flight from Philadelphia to the Bahamas, it's out of my price range.

    Looking for liveaboard Oct 15-22

I'm trying to plan a dive trip for three people starting the weekend of October 15 2005. I'd really like to do a liveaboard and I'd like to do North Carolina but it seems that they don't run any liveaboards during that time because of weather problems. I'd also like to keep it around...
