    Good buddy skills

A good buddy team is when both are rescue trained. If they can't help eachother than they are diving solo.

    How many divers are there?

Nobody really knows. Agencies do inflate numbers but the bigger problem in estimating how many is for example, somebody gets certified with one agency, takes an advanced course from anoter agency and a specialty from another agency yet. Each agency records a certificatin, in the industry it...

help with 5min classroom teaching presentation topic

You can't teach any topic in 5 minutes, not well anyway. But any topic can be broken down into pieces. For example if I asked you to do a 5 minute presentation on scuba mask. What will you teach, everything? No. Pic a segment. Teach just how to don a mask, or just how to clear a mask, or maybe...

    Habitat Curacao?

I agree with smbcuracao 100%. Habitat is a great place. Friendly knowledgeable well trained staff, good boats, best reefs on the island are just a short boat ride away. The house reef is just a short swim from the dock is as good of a dive as any reef for the novice and advanced diver. Over the...

    The truth of U-869

AMEN!!!!!!!!!! I know John Chatterton, I was teaching with him at the same dive shop for many years. In fact he took one of my courses at one time. He does like to talk and would not stand by without saying anything, that's a fact. Take his word for it. He's a great dwon to earth guy. Whatever...

    Computer vs tables

Yes it is easy but not for most. 100 ft dive to 20 min, ascend to 60 ft for 20 minutes is not 80 ft for 40 min as some think. They should stick to a computer.

    Computer vs tables

Square profile on a dive table vs multilevel on a computer?

    Computer vs tables

Square profile on a dive table will definately give you shorter bottom time vs a computer. Diving on a dive table to a stepladder profile will get pretty close to computer bottom time. But who wants to make the stepladder calculations with a table on a task loaded dive, it's easier with a computer.

Dive Computers? HA!, Am I the last of the old timers????

Yeah I have a few. The first I got was the Orca Edge aka The Brick when it came out with a special price for Instructors. Have also an Alladin, Citizen Aqua, Aladin Uwatec, so what, most of the times I don't use them unless I do some serious diving. For one or two dives per day dive tables are...

Curacao - where to stay? Habitat?

I can tell you that if you want to experience spawing, Habitat is the place to be. The easiest shore dives from the dock, short swim to the reef, tanks are open 24/7, just grab a tank and go diving anytime day or night. For night diving it's a no brainer. There is a rope along the bottom running...

Well, we finally managed to return back to NJ. Met Chedderchick and Cheddarguy on the Habitat dock almost toward the end of our stay.Didn't do too many boat dives since the house was full and I didn't want to take up boat spots. We were booked on Continental to return on Saturday 17th. We were...

    Curacao Scubaboard Meet & Greet

There's tons of houses for rent on both sides of the island, closer to town or way out on the west end, in any price range from villas to little inexpesive houses. Diving, well, this is where some disagree bit I like it better than Bonaire because of the variety of reefs. Shore diving is great...
