My oxycheq singles donut does the same thing on my LP 95. So far it has not caused any issues.

Nemrod, That is not exactly true. It is true that most of the DIR types will use the 7 ft hose, however, you will find an occasional 5 ft or 40" hose in open water. There is nothing, as of now ;) , that says you need to use the 7 ft hose in open water.
