Turns out, I have to RMA this camera. SeaLife Support is great though. They are sending a new one 2-day so we have it before out trip.

If you are in the DC / NOVA area: I called 10 stores in VA. Every store was out except Manassas. They had 1 in a box (which I Purchased - had some gift certificates to spend) and the demo model. They may sell the demo.

You can compare features on www.bestbuy.com. Look up the HC3 and click on Compare with products in this price range. Biggest difference is dvd vs minidv. also firewire support.

Just called the 4 closest Best Buys. Same story at all - out of stock and no more expected as it is discontinued. Any other suggestions for a good starter underwater camcorder?
