    Diving in South Jersey

Dectek, you're wrong. I would much rather blow a dive with someone in the quarry than blow a dive buddying up with someone on a boat after paying 100 bucks or more to be there to have that person call the dive because they are cold, or scared because they can't see more than 2 feet in front of...

    Diving in South Jersey

Hey Bill welcome to the board. If you'd like, shoot over to www.wreckvalley.com/forum and sign up there. Most of our conversation is held on our site now. As far as getting wet, there are tons of quarries within driving distance of you to get used to the northeast conditions. It's a different...

    First Wreck Valley Dive

Jack recommended Dutch because it's a place that is local, cheap, and easy to get to. We often do whole weekends there just hanging, not even diving. It's a social experience, and a place to brush up on skills after a long winter off.

    Painted my stage bottle today

I'm doing 4 more tanks in the next week or two, will post pictures when I get them. If anybody is sincerely interested in any sort of tank airbrushing, let me know and we can work something out. My double 100s will be the same design, just opposite, silver flames on a blue background.

I may actually bring it back to work and paint the MOD markings on it, and it does suck that I have to tack a visual sticker on it.

No, that's House of Kolors out of an HVLP spraygun and an airbrush gun. That job would run around 300 bucks. Other things are available, PM me for more info.

    Moving to NY (Suffern/Monroe area)

I have lots of opinions on the area diveshops :) Seriously though, whenever you want to take in the area, just let me know. I'm always up for a beer.

    Ahh....The North Atlantic Wreck Hunters!

"It seems you are given a little more respect too" Unless you are in south Florida on a cattleboat to which you hear the words "Hey you guys in the doubles, remember this isn't a tech boat, so no deco"

    Unknowing divers endangering kids

I wasn't going to butt in, but it bothers me that everbody keeps bringing up this solo diving issue. I dive solo often. When I do so, I make sure I have proper bailout gear, and don't push the limits of what I know I am capable of. However, the problem with the situation being discussed here is...

is there ANYWHERE to do open water dives to finish certification before March?

If it's John at NESS, he's trying to rob you. I promise, the water at Willow was in the mid 40s on New Years day, and I'm sure it is still there. You can comfortably do 2 wetsuit dives if you go to the lobster shack in between to keep warm.

    Toms River flea market

Yep, a few of us went last year, and the deals (especially at the end of the day when nobody wants to pack their stuff up) are great. Didn't bring much cash with me, but made it home with a light and a reg bag. Lots of decent used gear there, but you have to watch out who you buy it from.

    Moving to NY (Suffern/Monroe area)

Not sure Greenwood Lake is worth diving, but it is like 5 minutes from Monroe. I'd be straight up the highway from you, so when you get settled in give me a jingle.

    lake wallenpaupack

Seriously guys, it's not worth it! Grunzter acually dove there after I told himk not to, and his bottom time was like 3 minutes. There is nothing there.

I got a wide angle lense from my parents for my video cam, Deep Descent from the wifey, and I got myself a 21 watt Dive Rite Slimline canister light.
