Of the 2 GUE courses I've taken, we only did a swim test for cave 1, but not fundamentals. Although, when I took DIRF, it was not a pass/fail like it is now. I agree that it should be part of all the courses, I wouldn't dive with someone that couldn't swim. (and swimming 300 yds in 12-14...
