360 foot deadly dive - Isles of Scilly

I knew this diver. He was a skilled technical diver and instructor. Certified on a dozen different rebreathers. He was relatively young and in good health. It will be interesting to find out what actually happened here.

Chatterton and Howard E Curse of Civil War Gold

I agree, and we discussed that when we were there the previous year, when we did some survey work. This year, we were brought in to find what turned out to be bricks.

Legends of the deep, anyone watching it?

They may have done some enhancements in post but I really didn't notice anything striking. On oak island, John was diving a km - 37 helmet. The comms inside the helmet sound much better than the comms in the full face mask with wireless communication. The helmet is hardwired to the surface...

Legends of the deep, anyone watching it?

I've used comms on every episode i've been on, and we never did audio pickups to make up for deficiency of sound quality on the dives.

Legends of the deep, anyone watching it?

I watched this to see my buddy Mike Huntley on EP2. With that said, and having been on a few episodes of Curse of Oak Island myself... 1) The mask is a Kirby Morgan M48 but custom colored. I'm personally surprised that the comms sound that good, they usually don't on that mask, since you have...

Oceanic and Hollis regulator recall alert

Service kits sold during the period of October 1 through May 25, 2018 may also be affected, as it's possible the service kit contained the pin that has been recalled. Even if you service your own regulators, you can visit an Oceanic or Hollis dealer to have them inspect the regulator pin to see...

    Pernicious Pop up ad Pests

My advice to you... Check your iPad for malware or some kind of spyware. This isn't necessarily a virus, but it's some kind of other application. There are no ads on ScubaBoard that should cause that.

    Pernicious Pop up ad Pests

Pete was referring to a specific ad from Dive Right in Scuba, that I created for them, which I resolved the issue. Beyond that I'm not working on anything. If you are having problems I'd suggest you post in site support (this is the feedback forum), or email support@scubaboard.com hopefully...

    Dive Right banner issue

I've moved the banner source to a different server (that does not have caching rules set up for content expiration), and created a new banner "slot" on ScubaBoard... If the issue persists, I'll have to remove the banner. I've tested this on iPhone 5, 6, and iPhone X (as it seems as though the...

    Dive Right banner issue

As the guy who made the banner.... I tested it on an iPhone 8 on iOS 11.0 using Safari and aside from the fact that the SB Ad Server doesn't support HTML5 banners that are responsive, since they have to be iframed in... The banner works properly. Clicking on it takes me here -> With that...

    Inadvertently breaching copyright

As do I. This is also why on any website that we build, we repeatedly ask the client if they actually have the right to use the photos they're providing to us. In one case, we had someone who didn't have permission, and they were sent a bill from Getty Images for $400. Additionally, I advise...

    Inadvertently breaching copyright

I just saw this thread, and thought I'd give the real answer as to why ScubaBoard downloads the images and hosts them locally, and why on Wetpixel it doesn't matter (at the moment*). It is simply because of the SSL on ScubaBoard Vs The sources of the images on the page must also be...

    Closed: Bug report

For me it loads fine. This is not a software bug, but rather probably related to your connection speed, or how your browser interprets the images. Since the image size is not specified in the code (because these images have varying heights and widths), they load as a height of 0 until the...

    Solved: weird 404 errors

This all started because I had to fix the rewrite rules for old posts not working. Anyway. it's fixed now, but you may have to clear your cache, since "REDIRECT 301" means "Permanent" Redirect, and your browser thinks it has the right info but it doesn't. If this was a big widespread...

    Solved: weird 404 errors

ok i think it works now. For whatever it's worth. All links to SB should be with https and www. Additionally, the forums base is currently /community/ vs /forums/ as it was with vBulletin. This was changed in January of 2016.

    Solved: weird 404 errors

Yes. I'm trying to verify that I've corrected the rewrite rule. If someone could try one of the old links that didn't work, yet would be great. Thanks
