    TSandM -- Lynne Flaherty

Peter, I'm shocked and saddened. She was so special and touched most of us here. I am so sorry for your loss.

Lost! Galileo Sol vic Lee's Ledges, Jupiter, FL

Did you let Adam know by any chance? really need a better mount for those. Ham, I believe it was, made a really slick bungee mount. Only problem there was no redundancy.

    Arthur heads up US coast

I was really unhappy to see one form this early in the season, but I'm happy it formed north of us and doesn't look like it will make landfall until Greenland . Then the last track I saw takes it into Great Britain. Odd.

Diver struck by boat near Jupiter Inlet

Here's the story from a mutual friend. They were not "diving in the inlet". Andrew was trying to retrieve a lure he had lost in the rocks of the jetty. Nicole was with him. There is some pretty stuff to see there. I don't know which way the tide was running, but Nicole ended up in the...

Diver struck by boat near Jupiter Inlet

11 people have died there since 1998. Very difficult for boaters who might be too busy trying to ride the swells over the sand bar, keep from capsizing or crashing on the rocks to keep proper eyes out divers. The inlet is not much wider than a football field. Besides, the place is posted "no...

Diver struck by boat near Jupiter Inlet

I suppose we need to wait and see what else comes out. Do we know if they were on scuba or just snorkeling? I ask because people do snorkel along the jetties.

That was inevitable. Sad that the boy sustained permanent and debilitating injuries.

Dive boat operators face charges of illegally feeding sharks in state waters

i've known Randy for 15 years. I've earned the right to bash him in this thread for his shark feeding. But to bash him for anything else is unwarranted. Randy makes it very clear that his dive op is for "good" divers only. See the link. PBMC Dive Alliance As Halcyon alluded, Palm Beach ops do...

    Florida in May

24 dives for the week. Not to shabby. You guys'll be sleeping pretty good on the plane home. I've never dived with Rainbow (usually dive OP, other peeps boats in the Keys), but you will not be disappointed with JDC. My LDS.

    Axiom i3

It is a gimmick and a joke. I checked in with my daughter as well as dive buds. It was like huh? Only reason I know this thing exists is I'm on this board.

Negative entry vs Using a downline

I'm in construction. OSHA mandates that all ladders are secured. Well, how does the first guy do that?

Negative entry vs Using a downline

Now we are being silly. When I got certed by Frank Hammet we did learn how to use a bottle without a regulator.

Negative entry vs Using a downline

I know for a fact that Dan dives with non DIR divers. I am not DIR although my rigs are pretty much Hogarthian these days. Dan knows I often dive splits (bad knee from a ski accident) The only thing he has ever said to about that was to offer me the opportunity to dive a soft pair of his Dive-R...

Negative entry vs Using a downline

I'm a solid believer in donating the primary reg. My first BPW rig was an Oxycheq razor mounted on a DR plate with an Air II (actually an Atomic SS1) with a 40 inch hose under the right arm with a 90 degree swivel at the second stage. I only dive open water so 40 was fine. As dived the rig I...

Negative entry vs Using a downline

I "used" a reel before I used a spool. After losing 2 Carter's I went to a spool and the 1 meter halcyon closed marker. In many cases, particularly in Jupiter, I believed the smaller markers inadequate. I worked at it and can now shoot the big Halcyons. My main buddies use spools and shoot...

Negative entry vs Using a downline

Those are the kinds of comments that annoy some folks. How can you make such presumptuous statements? Did you hear that somewhere? :) i am a rec diver. I shoot a 50# 6ft marker from rec depths (<120ft); as do many of the locals. A finger spool doesn't work as well. Especially a hundred footer.

    Preferred Underwater Signaling Device

Floridian.... What you describe is lack of buddy awareness. I think they should be prohibited. Horrible thing to bee on a charter with a bunch of vacation divers honking and banging away when they see a fish or poor turtle. I only give nod to an instructor who might have a gaggle of students...
