Ran across this last night. New Sony video camera that comes with water proof housing. Looks interesting.

My classes were held in the dive shop in their own pool. Approx 4ft at the shallow end and approx 10-12 ft at the deep end. Not a very big pool, but plenty big enough. And no kids jumping off a diving board on your head!
I should add that since I certified through the shop, on Sunday...
To this I will add, do not be in the area right around the ladder while anyone is on the ladder. When the boat is pitching, they may fall off and you don't want to be under them if that happens.

This is not my chart but I found it online when I had a similar question. Maybe it will help you.

I have the cruise line excursion booked for two tanks with Don Fosters in Grand Cayman Dec. 5 and considering booking one dive during a snorkeling boat trip with Eagle Ray in Cozumel Dec. 6.
Would love to hear from anyone else who will be aboard.

Thank you everyone. I am looking forward to doing more diving.
farsidefan, I am already in big trouble as far as air consumption, I am apparently a big air hog! I was the limiting factor during our 2nd and 4th dives where we were using the second half of the tanks. I would start with 1600-1700...
Did my OW certification dives this weekend, August 11-12 at Beaver Lake in Arkansas and passed all skills and dives! Yippeee! The water was 85-87 degrees above 26 feet and visibility was about 10-12 feet. We finally caught a break on the air temps as it was only in the 80's both days instead of...
I read through this thread a few weeks ago and just today ran across this picture/article on one of the blogs I read. Granted, the guy is not SCUBA equipped but it is cool none the less.

I realize there is much more to learn and you have pointed out some of that, but if I ensure the alternate air is there today while I learn, I can adjust to other factors later as I learn more. I have learned but need to practice, proper ascent rate, ensuring I don't hurry my ascent, as well as...
I think this thread clarifies in my mind what my instructor told me in the pool last Monday, "You begin your ascent at an early enough point to leave my 500 psi in the tank." When I looked at him quizzically, he explained to me that the last 500 psi in my tank was not my air, but was his. And...
What do the more experienced divers consider to be essential information to log on each dive? I've been reading some of these threads on dive logs and I can see where having certain information in the future would be a good thing for planning future dives. Just starting my pool dives in a couple...
