    Dive Dry with Dr. Bill

Any place to watch Dr. Bill's Dive Dry series? Anything online perhaps? Bill's gone, but I'd still love to learn a thing or two from him. Thanks.

Can anyone suggest a computer for returning to altitude after a dive

On my first dive back in the ocean at the Dr. Bill Bushing Dive Park, I played it safe and got a hotel for the night on the mainland as my Garmin Descent G1 said I technically needed to wait until 6:23 AM the next day before "flying". My next step is to get Nitrox cert for sure and that should...

Can anyone suggest a computer for returning to altitude after a dive

Great info! This is of importance to me as I recently moved to the mountains. My home is at 6,400 feet. The type of diving I do rarely exceeds 60 feet off the beach, but I typically do at least 2 dives. The drive home typically averages about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Based on everything I'm...

    Looking to "Dive" back in.

Alright^^^. How many times has that been used on this forum? I'm too scared to search... But short story long, I started diving in 2010 in college. Got certified at the now defunct Sports Chalet and joined the now defunct Southern California Dive Club of the Inland Empire...where we met at the...

    Bad LDS Experience.

Yes, and to be fair, I have found some really amazing deals off of groupon.com $99 5 window, quality tint anyone? ---------- Post added ---------- True. And that's what I mean by "most likely". Sometimes there just isn't getting through to these people, even at the top. In those...

    Bad LDS Experience.

I was going to say... I hear about these bad experiences all the time, all over the boards. I have been fortunate enough to have pretty decent instructors and shops thus far. But I don't care what anybody says. If I have a bad experience as bad as some of the stories floating around these...

    Scary OW certification weekend

See, we did the out of air scenario in the pool, but it was only for a brief few seconds, and only to show you what it felt like to be in an out of air scenario, or so we were told.

Newly Certified Looking for Dive Buddies

I had the same issue and so I joined a local Dive Club to solve this issue (Southern California Dive Club of the Inland Empire). You can join us for a dive at Diver's Cove in Laguna Beach, Sunday June 10th, 2012 if you like. 8 AM - 12 PM, 2 dives. Bring money for lunch.

    Aspiring Solo Diver

I am reading everything in this thread, sir. My end goal is still to become a solo diver. I think I realized many of the risks well before I even posted, but I am still learning a ton out of this thread and this section of the forum. My first step to meet this goal has been to join a local...

    Educate me on my fins.....................................

I suppose the dive conditions/area would be useful info too? Thus far in my short diving career, I have only dove with fins that look like #4, so I can't be of much use for the rest of them.

    Newbie's advise to new divers

Being a new diver with new diver experience, I'd add that your never done with training (I know, it sounds good, and everyone says that over and over again). But it's true. I always seem to learn something new every time I get out there and dive, especially with people who are far more...

    New to cold water

You might be able to get away without wearing a hood later this summer/early fall. Depends on your tolerance to cold. I'd bring it just in case. I didn't wear a week ago at the Dive Park, and I was fine. Though I admit, the first few minutes of the dive were pretty cold, especially in the...

DFG Cites Poacher For Harvesting Giant Sea Bass

He's right. Under very few exceptions, such as LAMBERT V. CALIFORNIA, you are not innocent because you are ignorant idiot that a law exists. It's up to you to understand that, particularly fish and game laws, if you are going to be hunting and fishing. That said, I don't believe the guy for a...
