    SMS 100 & Twinset

I love my SMS100, obviously I dive in SM configuration all the time with it. However, after a recent to Scapa Flow I'd like to investigate altering the configuration to back mounted twins. I think you can imagine why. There is a video on YouTube (Using a Twin Set with your Hollis SMS100...

Sharm for diver and non diver?

The girlfriend and I are planning next years holiday. I'd like to dive in sharm but it won't be a purely diving holiday as the girlfriend doesn't dive (and won't, ever). Can anyone recommend a resort that caters for divers (convenient, no hassle, not cattle class and doesn't nanny you in the...

    UK Diving Wetsuit

Good lord! Sorry, I'm firmly in the dry suit camp. I was at Gildenburg (peterbrough, today's video below if you're interested) today, two dives. Each was cold for all of us, a wet suited diver in our group would be just alien to us. Each to their own of course, however longer dives may see you...

    Where did you dive today?

Stoney Cove, UK. 4 degrees. First Sidemount dives following the course in preparation for a long weekend of wreak diving next weekend.

Technical diving and the new diver

I think the LDS the right to advertise to students additional courses available, not the hard sell at all, but how else are these shops to ensure they continue to get repeat business beyond AOW or MSD. Also, how are students to know what the different paths are. Some will want to progress...

    Skip twinsets, go sidemount

I jumped straight to side mount, wanted two tanks but twin back mount just didn't appeal at all. Really happy with the decision.

Desert divers? Odd shop name for a completely water based activity. :)

Instructors wearing drysuits while students wear wetsuits

Our instructor would refuse to teach anyone in anything but a dry suit. He had school suits at his disposal and I thank him for it. I doubt I'd be diving otherwise. It added an additional task to manage at OW but worth it. He didn't try and push the cert on us either.

    Mask Flood in Cold Water

My regular buddy and I have started doing this on a regular basis. With us both going down the tech route we felt this and other skills needed to be practised. In the uk, it's always cold to some degree. Currently we're in 6 degree water in the local quarry, mask removal is really taking our...

I have an O3 MSF 500. 5mm Neoprene, warm, easy to get in and out. Great all round suit. Love it.

I was diving their only a few weeks ago. How sad.

    Playing on wrecks

For me and my group, getting through the smallest hole, pretending to drive, and playing with objects other divers have previously left is what makes the dive more fun. Obviously location permitting

Can DMs take cameras on the dives they are leading?

I've been on a dive where the dm was filming with a big ass camera. I then bought the video. Didn't bother me, my buddies were always close by.
