I think the LDS the right to advertise to students additional courses available, not the hard sell at all, but how else are these shops to ensure they continue to get repeat business beyond AOW or MSD. Also, how are students to know what the different paths are. Some will want to progress...

I jumped straight to side mount, wanted two tanks but twin back mount just didn't appeal at all. Really happy with the decision.

Our instructor would refuse to teach anyone in anything but a dry suit. He had school suits at his disposal and I thank him for it. I doubt I'd be diving otherwise. It added an additional task to manage at OW but worth it. He didn't try and push the cert on us either.

For me and my group, getting through the smallest hole, pretending to drive, and playing with objects other divers have previously left is what makes the dive more fun. Obviously location permitting

I've been on a dive where the dm was filming with a big ass camera. I then bought the video. Didn't bother me, my buddies were always close by.
