Question Cobalt 2 Flaky Battery Behavior

...15 dives over a week in Cozumel, absolutely flawless performance, charged battery once. Still an amazing computer.

Question Cobalt 2 Flaky Battery Behavior

...I just want to come back in here and say that not only is RonR a hero around these places, the fact that here, YEARS after the product was abandoned by the original manufacturer, here he is providing the support that made me choose this comp in the first place. So, just a word of thanks...

    Atomic Cobalt "II"??

..there's another thread, but, yeah, some of us have one. I've done one pool dive with it, and it's exactly what I'm looking for in a comp - fast, easy to read, easy to setup, not too bulky. I've never toyed with a mark I, but just futzing with it in the dry it's a nice unit that hopefully will...

    Backup Wrist Computer

Heh, I did my first pool session with my Cobalt2 and (brand new) BUD, got out of the pool, and the BUD is telling me to change the battery. Not exactly sure that a brand new, out-of-the-packaging dive comp should last less than 45 min battery time, huh? There's no "off" button, of course, and...

    Cobalt 2?

Lots of behind the scenes stuff going on with Ron, who has been an absolute champ with getting things resolved (extremely minor quirks regarding FW and downloading - the thing hasn't even been wet yet!) Yes, the Atomic website is in desperate need of update - hell, the download page doesn't...

    Cobalt 2?

Hooked it up today, and it downloaded a new FW file that I'm assuming is actually older than the one actually on the unit... (naturally didn't flash it) Tried downloading this supposed demo dive and it wouldn't go, so not sure I've quite mastered the trick. It is still however fun to mess...

    Cobalt 2?

Got mine (finally)... Sure is a pretty unit... Navigation is super quick, and the compass seems to do a very decent job (above water!) Have to wait to get it wet, but I'm super pleased so far just being able to parse a menu on my dive computer without hassle. Thanks again to a very patient...

    Backup Wrist Computer

meh, I caved and bought one... :) Now I've got to research just what model best suits the Cobalt (I'm assuming RGBM)

    Backup Wrist Computer

having had another computer die on a trip to Cozumel (no luck with Suuntos of late) I'm considering a backup... I'll be getting a Cobalt 2, but want something else in the god-forbid moment. I'm aware of the limitations of the B.U.D., but curious how well it'd mate with the Cobalt to do what it's...

    Cobalt 2?

heh, mine didn't arrive in time for my own Cozumel trip, and I had another failure with a Suunto Cobra (this one a mark 3) - odd to get to about 100ft and see 4000psi suddenly and 11ft on your gauge! At any rate, have a good trip, looks like I've made a good decision (with thanks to a very...

Can I use a Cobra 2 as a backup computer, NOT hooked up to a hose?

You have a point... I guess I'm just trying to avoid the failure I had with my first Cobra, that if it had happened in the middle of a long trip w/o a spare would have been kind of annoying... I dive well within limits, but still, having a spare computer doesn't seem particularly stupid. That...

    Cobra Dead?

Thanks Chris... Can't complain, the thing gave me hundreds of dives of pleasure, but was a bit of a surprise as you can imagine.

Can I use a Cobra 2 as a backup computer, NOT hooked up to a hose?

One last bounce - anyone ever crazy enough to do two air integrated hose-tethered computers?

Can I use a Cobra 2 as a backup computer, NOT hooked up to a hose?

Resuscitating this thread for giggles - the scnario of something like a Cobra as backup does sound a bit nuts, but having suffered my first computer failure, I'm seriously thinking backup. The goal will be to get a Cobalt one day, but for now I'll be getting a Cobra3 to replace my dead Cobra 1...

    Cobra Dead?

heh, mine did almost the same thing, but it was on a 10+ year old model, and just had it confirmed that Suunto would not even attempt an out-of-warranty repair. Still would be interested in exactly what's going on when it barfs...
