I use a go pro in both video and picture mode. Batteries are removable but I use one battery fully charged per dive. I made a pole mount myself and now have a short and a long pole. Definitely use a filter for better pictures and remember to go slow when taking video. Also make sure you have...
Indian Valley Scuba has a trailer on the student side. If you show up there on the weekend you can meet other divers. You can also follow a class around if they have one going, and they usually do. Very friendly and they don't mind novice divers. Just talk to one of the instructors.
Well I had the BC checked out and the air 2 was in perfect working order. So the regulator froze, it came out the air2 first inflated the BC then free flowed from my second stage.
On the upside, I was able to get the profile of the dive downloaded finally on my windows 8 pc and it appears I...
One cannot control where the geese go, and there is some exposure to it when getting in and out of the water at the quarry. But consider that fish live underwater and have similar bodily functions and you dive in that!:cool2:
I specifically asked him if that would have happened with the BP/W and he said NO. Because the air2 on the Scubapro Bella BC is a regulator whereas the inflator hose on the BP/W only inflates.
So if my BC only had an inflator hose, then it would not have inflated.
I just took it into the shop and this is what we think happened. The conshelf is an old reg and I was pushing my limits with the 80 foot 41 degree water. It froze and because the BC has an air2 which essentially is a 2nd stage it free flowed and when that backed up the one in my mouth began to...
Thanks. That is another good strategy to remember. I was not looking for a rocket ride to the surface, that's for sure. And when I did surface thinking "Well that was bad" I was waiting to see how bad it was going to be.
I was very very lucky. It also made me realize how quickly things can go...
I do not think the bc was filling faster than being vented but it was filling as i was venting. I "think" and this is blurry because it happened so quickly, I was trying to head down but started using the hose in my left hand to dump air so I could slow down and turn down, and it did not fill up...
By the time I realized the bc was causing my ascent it was full. If I had realized that earlier I could have disconnected it and dumped air to stop my ascent but that did not click in my brain until I felt the squeeze on my ribs from the bc. and thats the moment my regulator began to free flow...
Funny you say that but I listened to my breathing on the video and it was fairly normal the entire dive down and up. As I descended I was adding air to the bc to slow up, so it was a controlled descent. I went slow because I need extra time to equalize. The water was 41 F at the bottom and if...
I had an unusual experience yesterday while diving and I am trying to sort out what may have happened.
I was diving with 3 people at Dutch Springs and we were going to the deep hole. We surface swam out to the army truck then dropped down to 77 feet. Then headed towards the deep hole. My buddy...
I find the dui weight harness drops the weight off my waist and lower on my hips and I am better balanced. Too much weight on the back and I am an upside down turtle.
I have one of the fold up snorkels and it works fine. I rarely use it but keep it with me if I need it. It has a velcro attachment to the mask and does not catch my hair as bad.
