    Really Bad Headache after skindiving

Well it seems that teknitroxdiver was the winner! It lasted till I went to bed now its fine. I checked what my dive computer said about my freediving and I might have just overdone it, holding my breath a little too much within a short span of time. Anyway lesson learned! Thanks for the help.

    Really Bad Headache after skindiving

So I was at Lake Rawling Va. this weekend getting in some much needed dive relaxation. Saturday I did 4 dives including a 30 minute night dive that ended at 9:30. I woke up this morning fine and when checking my gear to dive again, I noticed my HP hose leading to my gauge consol was leaking...

Saturday July 9th - Lake Rawlings VA

Well I was one of the many at the lake this weekend. Got in 4 good dives on Saturday including a great night dive. Today my high pressure hose decided it wanted to spring a lead between the nut and the metal flange that attaches the nut to the hose so diving today was out. I opted to skindive...

Yea that one is still there as per my last dive 3 weeks ago there. It leads out to what looks like a blast tank and a few misc. parts of off the escavators there. Anybody have a map for Fantasy Lake on their PC they would like to share???

    shore diving morehead

Good luck with that. I've got a 23' ft. Sea Hunt V hull and havn't even gotten out of the inlet yet. It seems that every time I want to dive the seas act up. Mainly on weekends though. For the past month it has been a nice 2-3 ft. seas for Sunday night through thursday night but as soon as...

Divers shoot Sand Tigers off Wilmington coast

Just my two breathes about the topic. I can see tying to a wreck. In 80+ feet of water it is hard to put out a sufficient amount of line to keep the boat from pulling the anchor (rule of thumb is 7 times the depth according to the coast guard). This is why many grapple to the wreck then tie...

    can anyone freedive?

I'm not sure if this has been stated or not but I don't feel like reading all three pages before I give my two cents worth. I'm a surfer out of Topsail Island, North Carolina. Right around hurricane season you usualy see the true locals out in the water surfing the swell because we are the...

Cutting Through Wreck (wood) - How?

I found that using aluminum powder and potasium perchlorate doesn't have problems with moisture as long as you give it a good coating of rustolium. I made a few about a year ago and let them fly this 4th! That stuff is just easier to get ahold of than some of the fancier plastics.

Cutting Through Wreck (wood) - How?

A small charge should do the trick to loosen one or two of the boards. About 1 oz. of Aluminium powder and 3 oz. of Potasium Perchlorate should do the trick. That is from a chemical standpoint. From a mechanical standpoint use anything (airdrills, airsaws) already discoused. Who says you...

    Water Moccasin

Growing up on a farm in the south we had many encounters with these snakes. If its a big one then don't worry about it. They don't usualy pack enough poison to kill you. The babies on the other hand pack more poison. Their bodies compensate for their small size with a more potent poison. If...

    Help me streamline!!!

I'm a lucky resident of Topsail Island, NC. Off our shores are some of the best wreck dives available to recreational divers. Becoming a dive buff a year or so ago introduced me to these wrecks. Now at college further inland, I've been diving in a local quarry. I notice though during my past...

    Raleigh/Durham Airport

Just to reinforce what everybody else has said get a car! And yes take it from a local islander.... it is going to be a zoo. In fact I'm heading up to Raleigh so I don't have to deal with it! Anyway good luck with the diving and hopefully better luck with the driving.

NC Diver Missing From Frying Pan Tower

This weekend three divers took to the waters off the NC coast at the Frying Pan tower. After being pushed by stong currents they surfaced far from the boat which they had anchored. Nobody was on the boat only the three divers that were in the water. One made it back to their personal boat and...

    Quarry Diving During the Week

So I'm a resident of Topsail Island but stuck inland due to College. Most weekends I try to go home and dive/surf but realy want to start logging more dives, possibly some in the middle of the week since I get out of my classes at 11:30 and have nothing to do the rest of the day. Anybody have...

Wreck Diving this weekend in NC

Hey guys I'm headed out this weekend to do some wreck diving. Forecast for the seas looks good as long as we can get out early. Hopefully plan to get out the the Hyde-Markham and do the usual dive set up. I was wondering if anybody had the GPS for the Stone tug and Pocohontis (and yes i...
