How do YOU choose a dive op?

Aldora... All their dive guides (dm) are certified in First Aid and in the Emergency First Response program. Oxygen on all boats. Plus they're better looking than the others! :) As far as other things to consider you first have to know what you want out of a dive shop. Do you want variety...

Need some work done. Can you recommend a dive shop?

The SS1 comes with 3 adaptors. Use the one that best fits your corregated hose? A ziptie will hold the adaptor to the corregated hose. After attaching the adaptor to the corregated hose you simply screw the SS1 onto the adaptor. You will need a small screwdriver too.

Dive company recommendation for Cozumel in August

I'm sorry you took it that way. Yet, I guess I can see how someone could. The whole discussion in my mind is if someone enjoys longer dives a higher capacity tank facilitates it. It's great you like diving with al80's. I like Steel 100's, some like steel 120's while others like al63's.

Dive company recommendation for Cozumel in August

Well... Actually you're right, yet it wasn't meant to be condescending. Some people like as much bottom time as they can get. Others get cold guickly or they breath faster. If you don't like long bottom times for some reason why would I care. Yet for those who do that's a different matter huh...

Dive company recommendation for Cozumel in August

Aldora is $93 less a cash discount of 10% making it $84. Yes there's tax. Try this... 3p's $86 (no tax) divided by 70 minutes = $1.23 per minute. Aldora, after the discount and including tax, divided by 90 minutes = $1.08 per minute.

How many dive ops and divers per day?

I don't know for sure but I've heard there are approx 200 dive ops here and during high season well over a thousand divers a day. As far as cruse ship divers go we don't run across very many. It's the exception not the rule.

    Cablemas Beware

Dave, we live on Calle 17 Sur and Ave 10 Bis. We switched to Telmex a year ago. Recently my broadband speed went from 10mb to nearly 40mb overnight. No rate increase either. It's been that way for some 6 months ago. I heard it was because they connected fiber in this area. We use UStvnow, a...

    Climate from July to August

The thing about the weather/heat here, as compared to Texas, is when you step into the shade the temperture probably drops 10 degrees or so. Probably 95% of the time there's a nice breeze all day long.

I/We Myself and 3 daughters 18-23 are looking for a good dive shop in Cozumel.

We used to dive with blue-xt-sea. They did it regularly. Never a problem. Never a shallow dive either. About 5 of our friends did that with them. [EDIT] I should say that during that time we never saw anything unsafe. Safety was importand to the crew.
