Yeah. I understand. The yellow tips were never about fashion for me. We dive in pretty dark water on wrecks in the northeast. The yellow tips allowed my dive buddy to quickly discern which one was me. He could spot me almost anywhere with a quick look around. Lol

Can’t you see the pressure with an spg? Wouldn’t a pre dive check catch a leak? And most, myself included, charge the pony, then turn it off, and leave it off thru the whole dive. I only turn it on when I switch over to it, at which point you are ending the dive. Any leak at that point...

Has anyone done these trips? Particularly on the Quino El Guardian? I'm looking at a trip late April to may. Is this a good time for Socorro? It sounds interesting but I'm curious as what to expect on a citizen science expedition. :popcorn:

I last dove it about a year ago. I have a side mount rig I use mostly and a travel BC for vacations. So it hasn't gotten much use. It works fine, no leaks, no problems. Nothing to service on it except normal maintenance and cleaning of the inflator valve and OPV, which I did after every use and...

There is no back pad. I find it very comfortable without one. I had one at one time but cut it off and never turned back. I found it offered no additional comfort, and I liked how snug the rig felt without it. I can send more pics if there is something specific you want a pic of. Let me know.
