My second Seaquest Balance gave up the ghost this year and I'm in need of a replacement BCD with similar qualities. My LDS gave me an Aqualung Dimension to use on a recent trip. It's not bad - it's a back inflate which I prefer, but the trim pockets aren't in the shoulders like the Balance had...
I recently had the opportunity to use the Orcatorch D530 dive light. This is great little light that functions as a backup for night/cenote diving, or as a take along during day dives to look into holes in the reef. It’s small and compact, and at 5 3/2” long fits easily into your BC pocket...
A sea life identification site did tag it as a Three Rowed, or Chocolate Chip/Cookie Dough Sea Cucumber. They did note the size of the knobby podia of this specimen.
This is a copy of the review I just left on Amazon. This is a good, solid light that is now a permanent part of my dive bag.
I went on my annual trip to Mexico this year where I do a combination of ocean, night and cenote diving. I thought I’d get a newer back up light to my older corded...
I've been diving mine all week so I turned alarms on to check the volume. I had turned them off after my first dive when I first got it because it made so much noise it was terribly distracting.
But I heard both of the alarms I had set, as did my buddy. Not super loud but loud enough to...
Update - after three days the Depth changed to 0ft and Temp starting showing the current air temperature. The Time button let me toggle between total dive time and the current time. But the computer still showed it was in Error, OLF was still pegged at 11 segments and I couldn't access any...
Early this week while diving in Mexico I found a Suunto Zoop on a reef. It still has power and correctly shows the depth & temp with the OLF graph pegged all the way to the top with 11 segments lit. The ASC TIME/NO DEC TIME show ER. DIVE TIME reads 999. The computer did not respond to any button...
Is the screen timing out on you? There is a user configurable setting that you pick how long the screen will stay lit in order to read it before it dims to percentage of light you pick.
I have mine at 100% brightness before dimming after one minute to 30% which is enough for me to see it if...
I’ve got the same octopus with the same problem. The cover just split this past week when diving in Mexico.
I’d prefer to get a replacement on my own and not have to take it to the LDS and pay a lot more.
I know this an old thread but after much searching I just picked up a new sensor from Vanagraph Limited in the UK. Their R-33DE Oxygen Sensor was £60 shipped - approx US$76 - much less than any supplier here. Super fast too - 5 day turnaround from the UK.
I received this link in my email this morning from a travel site's newsletter I subscribe to. I don't know if it's a benefit for anyone - either local or planning a trip to Hawaii in the near future, but here it is.
If it's good - act fast - these usually don't last too long.
$49 - Scuba...
I was in FL a few weeks ago (see updated profile pic from the Vandenberg) for a couple of days. I was so wanting to get wet I even paid to bring my gear along on a business trip that I was able to stretch a few days. No real time in FLL to say hello though.
That said, I'm looking to come...
A couple of the best dives I've ever had on the Grover were drifts from the masts to the bow. The boat dropped us off at the ball, then moved to the bow ball for pick up.
It's not very common, and usually only happens midweek when it's not as busy.
