Have you seen Deep Sea yet!!

I saw it, I loved it. Try it no matter what, the days of 3D being in blue and red I think are over. It was an awesome movie, loved it all, saw so much neat stuff. Great. Makes me want to go on a dive trip to... anywhere.

    Rescue diver class questions

OK, so Rescue is one of the classes I really, really really want to take. Drop gear? Maybe I should know but I don't so what is it exactly? And if you have taken the class, what other things do you do? Is the class worth it? What shoudl I expect?

    Kind of a cheesy question

This sounds really cheesy I know, but... I like to go back and read my dive manuals again, keeps me thinking and sometimes you see something you missed before, or learn something a little bit more. SO I am going through my books, and I realize that all the questions, quizes, section reviews...

In memorium: Rob Davie, aka BigJetDriver

"Everyman dies, not every man truly lives", said on the movie Braveheart, displyed here on this board. When this many people say so much good about a man, you can't help but think what a great and positive impact he had on others, and through this one knows, this man truly lived! See you further...

Have you ever lost a Fin?

I haven't lost a fin, but I was on a dive when we were in waist deep water and someone else lost one. I stood where I was so we could form a circle and do a search. After a long time of looking through the already very murky water we were about to give up. It was then people went under again to...

Just Renewed My DAN Membership & Insurance

I didn't really pay attention to the attacks, but DAN is something I really have looked into getting. Care to give some info about it? I mean I know the basic, but why do you really like it?

    General BC questions

So I am looking at possibly buying a BC and have some pretty basic questions. I have only ever used the kind my LDS has, so I don't know any of the advantages and disadvantages of different types and manufacturers. Since it is probably important to know here is some info: I am a recreational...

    Common reasons for diving nitrox

Stay down longer, stay on the surface shorter. What else is there. Actually after my OW cert, Nitrox was one of the priority certs I wanted.

    Fins and Kicks

So I am posting this because of the recent thread on which fins people prefer. I have only used TUSA splits, but after reading the thread ( and it was a long one), I have some kick questions. Now I read about people doing "Helicopter kicks", and back paddling and the such. My question, being...

    Fins split or paddles??

This is way long, and my 2 cents probably is just redundant, but I bought TUSA zoom on the advice of my LDS, and have never had a problem. Just as a matter of discussion, I used mine got mine for my OW cert and used them only briefly before going to Hawaii. I used them snorkling almost daily...

    Meeting up with sharks

Well sharks, I have heard alot of things. I am not concerned so much, but I have a question. I have heard there are places to dive, mainly the Carribean, where sharks are like dogs. I have heard that if you don't pet them/give them attention that they will swim over to you, kind of encourage you...

    Surface Swim Poll

    New divers and computers

I think you need both, or shouod have both. Maybe someday down the road you will need tables less, but I think you should have and use both. I bought one on the advice of my instructor because I was doing Nitrox certs, but I still have all the tables from instruction, and I keep them with my...

    Looking for Savannah Georgia information

I used to live right by Savannah, we never went to the beach until later, kind of chilly. Are you going with a wet suit? If not might want to think about one. I did love going to Tybee Island, that was before I was diving... missed opportunity I guess. While out there though, we also loved going...

    Mask Gradually Leaks

Ok, so I have a question. I am going to try all the suggestions given in this forum. I think my leak is I have my mask to tight. But here is a weird thing. If I dive I get a slow leak. I know I breath out of my nose at least a little each breath. I don't want the black eyes, but I don't think I...

    Trouble Equalizing

Start equalizing before you hit the water. Try to equalize before getting ready, as your getting ready, as you enter the water, on the surface, right as you submerge, and often as you descend.
