Key Largo, Rainbow Reef Divers vs. Horizon Divers

Brent is divemaster and Master Instructor at Blue Water Divers in Key Largo (check out the tagline of his post). They are the polar opposite of a cattle boat: they have a max of 10 divers per trip, and will choose a dive site based on requests or abilities of the divers. Friendly but very...

Have you considered Key Largo? It's a bit of a drive from Lauderdale and about an hour south of Miami, but if you get any more grief with hotels or unreturned phone calls, Brent at Blue Water Divers in Key Largo (http://www.bluewaterdiver.net) is a PADI instructor, and offers a full range of...

    Millbrook water temp?

Points well taken- whether "frigid" or just plain "cold", the deal at Millbrook is "suck it up and dive". CMal, I'll need a buddy too, but I can't dive this weekend- family coming into town to help us baptise the twins. Another time?

Looking for Newbie Dives on the East Coast

Here's a link to a NOAA buoy on Key Largo: http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=MLRF1 We had dove Key Largo in rough conditions, and found that while the boat ride made some people sick, getting into the water cured it. Longer story: almost the entire boatful of divers waved...

Looking for Newbie Dives on the East Coast

Whoo hoo! Key Largo will be a blast! Where are you planning to dive? If you do a search in the Florida Conch Divers forum you can find recommendations for dive operators. Since you'll be in the area, you might consider spending your "24 hours between diving and flying" interval at...

I am planning a spring break in Miami FL for diving.. need some advice here!

Not to hijack Yukoneer's thread with woes of rental car returns- thanks for the info. On one trip I was pressed for time and did what I could to find gas, but wound up returning the car dry. The rental return guy cut me a break, which saved me $50 or $60. I figured that might be a crushing...

I am planning a spring break in Miami FL for diving.. need some advice here!

Another plus for Ft Lauderdale: airfares to Lauderdale (FLL) are generally cheaper, in my experience, and lower airfare = more diving! Ft Lauderdale to Miami is a straight shot down I-95 if you want to visit there, and I'll guess a +/- 2 hour drive from Ft Lauderdale to the upper Keys...

Large dive shops around VA/DC/MD area?

Hey, it hasn't been TWO seasons! Just one! The answer is: twins, as of December last year. IMHO the most beautiful babies on the planet, but I may be biased. How've you been, and what cool places have you dived?

Large dive shops around VA/DC/MD area?

I've been to 3 or 4 shops in the area, and haven't really seen one that stands out in terms of being better-stocked than others. Are you looking for something specific?

    Simply awesome...

    >>I just got the chance Friday to dive at the National Aquarium in Baltimore Was this a one-time deal? I understand getting into the aquarium program means slogging through a long waiting list, and then committing to a certain number of hours per month.

    Summersville West Virginia

Never been there, myself, but a quick web search yielded this: http://www.westvirginiacabins.com/html/scuba.html It says Sarge’s Dive Shop floats on the lake, so they should have a pretty good perspective! Maybe a phone call, if there's no web site for conditions. Hope you have a good trip!
