    Bonaire or Curacao?

I had my next dive vacation down to two areas: Bonaire or Thailand (Similian Islands for a liveaboard). Now, with all the great reports on Curacao, I am forced to reconsider! Time to research Curacao! :) Thanks for all the great info. Thanks, Red Rover

    breathing pattern and air consumption

Here are my suggestions: 1) Get in good shape 2) stay relaxed. Learn to move slow, enjoy the dive and to just plain relax when underwater. 3) If you ever feel a little winded, slow down and relax. If your buddy is moving to fast. Tell him/her to slow down so you can relax. Relax, relax...

Can Breath Holding exercises build strong lungs??

If you want to build strong lungs and increase your breath holding abilities, then run a lot and work the lungs. High impact sprints work great. Thanks, Red Rover

    Leg cramps

I have no evidence other than what worked for me when I swam for UW Wisconsin Madison. However, our team NUTRITIONIST and our team DOCTOR were the ones who gave us this advice, which incidently, worked like a charm. :) Oddly enough, I asked another athlete (he runs triathalons) what he took...

How do you feel about solo diving?

I feel that anyone who doubts their abilities to dive solo, should not be diving. That doesn't mean they will dive solo, but they should have every reason to trust that they and their equipment are up to it. Afterall, if your buddy is in trouble, you need to be better than just a solo diver...

What you hate about other divers.

I do the same thing! I love burning off excess air at 15ft., especially if there are other divers in the water. It gives me a chance to watch them, observe for safety, check out marine life, gas off, work on bouyancy, work on breathing, check my compass for bearing (especially if we are diving...

    Tiger, tiger burning bright!

Clive, You are correct about Bull Sharks off the coast of Africa. They are there. In fact, I think they account for more attacks on swimmers/surfers/"sea going humans" than any other shark in the area, including the Great White. If you want to see aggresive Bull sharks, dive off the coast...

    Leg cramps

Muscle cramps are caused by the lack of potasium present in your muscle tissue. Eat bananas or take a potasium suppliment. I was a swimmer in college and once I started a high potasium diet, I never experienced another cramp! And I was a distance swimmer!:) Bananas, Bananas, Bananas and...
