    Veo 250 Battery Prematurely Draining

Just read old threads regarding the pulse power style batteries. If my duracell doesn't last, I'll try a Sony or Panasonic (or Sanyo?) and see if that does the trick. If not, I'll have to get the 'puter checked out.

    Veo 250 Battery Prematurely Draining

I've been hoping for some imput from Oceanic about this, here. They've always been excellent about responding with feedback. I also emailed their tech help dept. and never received a response. I'm diving with a duracell now and will see what happens.

    Veo 250 Battery Prematurely Draining

After 2 yrs. and over a hundred dives on the lst battery, the last two recent batteries have drained to the 75% warning point after only 2 to 4 dives. Is there an in shop way to test the Veo 250 to see if it's an internal problem? My computer is 2 yrs. old or a little older. I can get the...

Does Dive Alert Sub-Surface signal work well?

I have one. It doesn't sound all that loud or effective up close. What are user's experiences hearing them clearly from a distance? Sometimes it quacks sometimes it seems to only bubble(?)

Diver Missing in the Puget Sound - Deception Pass

Thanks synthesia 96. I was just curious, not looking to assign blame or anything, as I live very near Rosario and the Walla Walla outstation and wondered if they contracted locally. I wanted to know if any of my LDS owner friends might have been teaching and was concerned about giving them...

Diver Missing in the Puget Sound - Deception Pass

Does anyone know if these marine biology classes/dives are taught by Walla Walla faculty or if the dives are sub-contracted out to a shop or instructor(s)? I looked on the Walla Walla website which talked about the "Rosario Experience" but nothing specific about who leads the dives.

Diver Missing in the Puget Sound - Deception Pass

An update: I was down at Rosario Beach this afternoon to see if I could help in any way. There were several boats and inflatables searching the bay and on the other side towards Deception Pass. Helped launch a rescue/search inflatable off of the marine railway. Besides searching shoreline there...

Message for Mike at XS Re. Mask Replacment

Hi Mike, I promised to get back to you about the mask my shop and you had replaced due to the strap adjustment pins repeatedly coming out when the strap was pulled/adjusted. I've got a half dozen dives on the new mask and it seems to be holding together fine. I have to admit, that I...

    Lighter jets?

Hi David, Thanks for your response. Sorry it took me so long to get back to the board! I appreciate your letting me know about the (no) heel plate aspect. When OMS lst considered their version, they were supposedly contemplating adding one to the basic jet design, but I guess they didn't go...

Has Your Mask Adjustment Buckle or Pin Broken or Become Lost?

Hmmm...just occured to me, all of the posters here are cold water (or reasonably cold water) divers. I'm wondering if hood wearers are having more of a problem than warm water hoodless folk? Extra stretch and stress on buckle/pin systems? Any hoodless divers have this problem?

    Lighter jets?

The comparison of the Turtles in salt water with the OMS fins in fresh water is kind of confusing considering the different buoyancy characteristics.... Have you compared both in salt water by chance? I dive Turtles and would be very interested in the comparison. Thanks. I'd also be...

Has Your Mask Adjustment Buckle or Pin Broken or Become Lost?

Thanks for the pics. This is very educational... I can't tell for sure from the pics but it looks similar to my buckle/pin.

Has Your Mask Adjustment Buckle or Pin Broken or Become Lost?

Thanks do it easy for your edit and PM. Wow! OK, I'm gonna fess up now. I have had plastic pins pull out at depth and on the beach on an XS Scuba Fusion 3 window mask that I really like. IT happened 3 or 4 times over two years. XS and my LDS have both been great and replaced the mask with a new...

Has Your Mask Adjustment Buckle or Pin Broken or Become Lost?

1 T submariner, which brand and type of pin was it? Metal/plastic? Belmont, That's interesting as SP's frameless is one of the best known and respected masks around. Metal or plastic pins? I'm beginning to think that pin loss/separation is more common than usually thought. Let's find out...?

Has Your Mask Adjustment Buckle or Pin Broken or Become Lost?

do it easy, would you (and everyone) mind stating which brand of mask? This is kind of a consumer's survey... oh yeah if people could describe the pin type (plastic roller, plastic or metal sprung wrist watch type, or pressed/peened over metal pins or...whatever else is out there, that's "acted...

Has Your Mask Adjustment Buckle or Pin Broken or Become Lost?

Looking around lately at the varied mask adjustment buckle and strap pin systems from all the manufacturers, I've been hearing of and seeing some buckle breakage and strap pins becoming lost on dives. I was wondering how common this is and if you have ever experienced the loss (or...

Fusion Mask adujustment Pins Contstantly Breaking?

Mike, although I haven't had a chance quite yet to dive my replacement mask, (and I do love this mask) and you've been more than great, Al's experience seems to indicate that mine is not an isolated case and possibly not as uncommon as it might seem...? I'd still feel a lot more confident...

    beginning with doubles

It's not just the weight though. It's balance. On shore dives, with doubles, you may find yourself limited by climbing over rocks, logs, etc. or having to go up and down a reasonably steep sandy path in a bank, etc. Once you start falling over in doubles you're usually going all the way! On a...

Fusion Mask adujustment Pins Contstantly Breaking?

Just got off the phone with Mike who was very helpful. Thanks Mike! He seemed to think that it was either an original frame issue with that one particular mask or else the repeated pin replacements wore the pin holes enough to keep repeating the problem. I'll dive the new mask between tomorrow...
