I have never come across an operator who refuses to bring you diving once you put cold hard cash on the table. You don't even need a c-card.........of course having your own gear helps......

The best way is to choose a wing with a wide enough centre panel to go with the TP.
The Deepoutdoors 18lbs "airstream wing" fits perfectly on the TP2. I know because I'm using this setup.
The other way is to cut slots in the centre panel of the wing to suit the particular softpac model...
When using a softpac, it should not be necessary to use any STA. The idea is to strap the tank directly to the softpac and the whole assembly is straped to your body.
The STA is meant to be bolted on a hard backplate to stabalise the single tank and so would be useless on a softpac...
I will second the book by Mark Powell. Explains deco theory in plain simple english.
However, I would strongly suggest to get the proper training & experience before doing deco dives.
Regards,
SS
I'm using a Deepoutdoors 18lbs wing with the TransPac 2. Fits perfectly and allows the cambands to be attached to the TP2 without any problems. End result is a very compact BC for single tank use. :)
Spit into the lens
Rub the spit around the lens so that it will spread evenly on the lens
Wear it and jump into the water
Rinse away the spit while you are in the water(Do not rub. Just rinse)
Mask should not fog for the duration of the dive
