Taxi's or golf carts are both safe here on the island. As Peter said the taxi,s do not go up over the bridge so if you need to go north you would need a golf cart. going south no problem either way. Carts Belize is a good rental co. they are will maintained as well as Island Adventures golf carts

Pelican reef is only a mile away from VI, it is very well run, Condos that are rented out. a little pricer than VH. you can't go wrong with either
