This is a picture on board the sister-ship, Vision - it shows where the bunk escape hatch comes out. I think it might be the same layout for the Conception. If I have this wrong, please let me know. I am going off memory here.

I remembered something about my trip in 2006. There was a hatch above the bunk near the stern area and I thought it was very odd that you had to climb into an upper bunk bed to get out. The safety briefing was not done downstairs in this area, it would have been too crowded, but these hatches...
Checked Internet yesterday - The business was registered in Winters, CA (near Sacramento) - for the diving trip, they had posted to send checks to a PO Box in Twin Bridges, CA (near lake Tahoe) and the dive leader/organizer was from Santa Cruz. They did not have a bus leaving from any central...
Confirmed charter was out of Winters, California which is very close to Sacramento. That is a very tiny town, more than likely had people from Sacramento on the trip, since they would often provide transportation to Santa Barbara - like a bus. I dove the Conception with Dolpin Scuba out of...

I think that Scott's writing led you to believe that the hostility came from the fact that he was going to be in the water with his girlfriend as they warned him repeatedly to stay away from her. This is probably training protocol to make sure that there is no interference. Perhaps these two...

After looking at the video, the one female diver looked to be at about intermediate level to me. Not completely a "green" diver, but she was working on getting better for sure. Sometimes she would move her arms around some like a beginner and you would see her bring her arms in to stop it. A...
