Wow, this is horrible. Correy was a great guy. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Complete ATX200/ATX50 DIR reg setup - excellent condition

I'm selling my single-tank reg setup. It has become my vacation rig since switching to doubles and has seen almost no use. It has about 30 total dives on it, and was rebuilt about a year and a half ago. It only has two dives on it since the rebuild, and has been sitting in it's bag ever...

Fusion and DC Gloves w/Inner Latex Seal

That was the tricky part, and it took a few tries on each sleeve to get the correct position of the ring. Because the seal is tapered, it will try to push the ring toward the suit side as you're installing the first o-ring. If it's too close to the suit, when you turn the sleeve right side out...

Fusion and DC Gloves w/Inner Latex Seal

Yes, it's possible to get DC rings onto the latex seal on a Fusion and preserve the wrist seal. It's not as easy as on other suits, but it's definitely possible. Once on, the outer neoprene flap acts like a cover to protect the o-rings, so you don't need the 'gaters' that come with the DC...

Review: Whites Fusion Drysuit - say goodbye to cave cut

I also agree that the pockets stink. After struggling for a few minutes tonight to put wetnotes back into my right pocket that also contained a backup mask, I had to hand the wetnotes to my buddy and ask him to stow them for me. I'm tempted to try to pull them off and sew some of those huge...

Review: Whites Fusion Drysuit - say goodbye to cave cut

Mine is also very difficult to operate. I have yet to be able to close it completely by myself, despite waxing the zipper after every use. I can open it by myself OK.

    Deep Air Diving - thoughts

Honest question- no agenda here. It sounds like you go through a lot of planning, preparation, and effort to get ready for a deep air dive. I'm curious why you don't, instead, put the planning and effort into doing that dive on mix and avoid the issue of narcosis altogether? Is it an...

    Help with proper trim technique

As others have said, there are right and wrong ways to arch your back. As was explained to me by Beto, you don't want to hyperextend your lower back, as this is a recipe for lower back pain for sure. Instead, you want to focus on tightening your glutes, which will bring your knees up. Not a...

Hiprofile vs. low profile apeks exhaust valve

The Whites Fusion comes with a Sitech valve, which IMHO is better than either the high profile or low profile Apeks valves. I'd stick with what you have.

Drysuit air bubble management help please

having struggled with ds bubble management in the recent past, I'll offer up some things that I observed, and that helped me. - first off, I don't think you mentioned what insulation you're wearing on your feet. I was wearing DUI 400g thinsulate booties, and these seemed to trap a ton of gas...

Fusion Sizing - Err Tight or Loose?

I'm 6'0", 170 lbs and a L/XL fits me snugly with thick undergarments on (fleece baselayer, and then Whites Mk2). Based on how the L/XL fits me, being 3 inches taller and 27 lbs heavier than me, I'd be inclined to recommend the 2XL/3XL for you.

Hmm.. Some familiar names/faces in latest Quest mag

Very cool indeed! There's a pic of HBDiveGirl that Mo2 took in an article on the Reef Check program, and there are a couple of nice pics of Rob's in the article on the BAUE 2007 group project, including one of Allison. Nice work, all.

    Drysuit trouble...

I still don't follow your argument. By your own admission, you're overweighted and intentionally negative while on the wreck so you're not adjusting your buoyancy while on the bottom performing all these other tasks. The only time you'd really be actively managing gas in the DS/wing is on...

Tying the bungee loop on the light

Depending on the lighthead, the cave line may be more secure than just bungee. The newer Salvo's, for example, have a pretty big groove on the tail where you can attach a bungee loop and it will stay in place. On the older lightheads without that groove (like mine in the picture in the link)...

    Scenario

I believe the logic was that following another diver's lead on when to ascend is simpler than attending to a timer/depth gauge. In this scenario, #2 is attending to #1 so they should not have to also attend to a depth gauge/timer. If #3 is running the deco, all #1 and #2 have to do is follow...

    Scenario

According to my instructor, #3 should be shooting the bag and calling the deco. We did this exact drill with him on some training dives this past weekend. His rationale was that #3 isn't task-loaded at all- spooling the line should be a pretty simple task, so #3 should act as the reference for...

    Drysuits and sunscreen

Try the Neutrogena Ultra-sheer Drytouch sunblock. It dries completely grease-free and has a very mild nice scent. You can get it all the way up to SPF 85, but the 30 and 45 are the most commonly found in stores. It's sweat and water proof, and works great for diving.
