Question Is baby shampoo really that bad?

That is correct. Baby shampoo, like any soap, breaks down grease. The grease on the o-rings in camera housings is integral in keeping them sealed. That is why most boats have a separate bucket marked "cameras only". Diluted baby shampoo works okay as a defog, about as well as spit. As for...

    Used Regulator Purchase (Help)

I say its worth the price. However, you should also plan on the cost of servicing it which you should do no matter what before you use it. That is usually going to run you about $100 at your LDS. Those are all good solid components. Mk2 is bulletproof and very easy to service.

    Iberostar & Dressel Divers

I would consider adding Cozumel to your short list. Many all-inclusive options in Cozumel (Cozumel Palace hotel would be at the very top oy my list). You can book diving on six-pack type boats which limits the group number to something reasonable (recommend Aldora Divers who offer 100cf tanks...

Common Use of the Term AI when talking computers

In the context of dive gear, I interpret AI as air integrated/integration. If we're talking about a wrist computer then I presume AI means wireless/hoseless AI. If talking about a console AI computer (e.g., the Oceanic Pro Plus) I presume AI via the hp hose. Context is key.

Question Is a Mk25 overkill for recreational tropical water dives?

One more note that I neglected to mention in my prior post... I see very poor value for money in the cost vs. benefit of titanium regulator components. This is purely my opinion, but the tremendous up-charge for titanium simply cannot be justified by the performance benefits, i.e. weight...

Question Is a Mk25 overkill for recreational tropical water dives?

The MK25 might be “overkill” for the type of diving you describe but regs are more about features than necessity since very few divers will ever realistically push any reg to its limits. The MK25 is a balanced piston which means it will provide equal performance regardless of depth and tank...
