    For Sale Scuba-related Books

All of these are in good shape. Most have some spine creasing, dinged corners, etc. All have been read, but none are abused. Happy to take pics if anyone wants them. Prices will be plus actual shipping, since most of these will otherwise cost me money to sell. If you buy four or more at once...

Closed Like new Deep6 7mm Wetsuit - XL

Sold. Time to start selling off all my equipment, as I don't see myself diving much in the future. First up, my 7mm Deep6 wetsuit. Size XL, if the info I found elsewhere on the board is accurate, this should be from their size chart: 6'1" - 6'3" height, 185-215lbs weight, 37-39" waist, 42-44"...

Closed No longer FS: Halcyon 40#/HP100 rig, DR regs, DR Al BP

Sorry for the slow responses again. Nothing has sold, so it's all made the move to Montana at this point. All available, but shipping will be necessary, and I'll probably have to spend some time sorting boxes to find it all.

Shoot, sorry folks. I thought I had notifications turned on, but I guess not. I'll upload the rest of the photos this evening.

Closed No longer FS: Halcyon 40#/HP100 rig, DR regs, DR Al BP

First round of pics up. I'll get photos of the tanks shortly. Also adding to the list: Used pair of XL Scubapro Jet fins with spring straps. These are probably ~15 years old, and fewer than 100 dives on them. These are US made, and considerably heavier than the current ones. Always stored in a...

Closed No longer FS: Halcyon 40#/HP100 rig, DR regs, DR Al BP

Update 3/19/21: Having issues receiving notifications from SB. Moved without selling anything, so my main driver to sell no longer exists. Everything is still available, but I'm unwilling to dig through all the boxes and find items at this point. Once I get settled, I may re-list everything. For...

    STA bolts

This is my solution. If you have an aluminum backplate, use a flat washer, then place the split washer on top of it, or you'll gouge the backplate over time. Not really an issue with a stainless backplate, but I still use flat washers just so it's all the same.

    Dive Shop On Wheels Research

I feel like this is a relevant article: Creative Customer Care I've spent more than a few paychecks at the above shop in my life. Their customer service has always been beyond reproach. Lots of work, sure. But I think it's a workable business model, and certainly serves to build...

    Finger spool repair

If you're diving in salt, I'd avoid powdercoat. It's great while it lasts, but once you scratch or chip it, the aluminum will corrode under the finish and it will gradually flake off in chunks and look terrible. With a spool, you'll chip the coating on the outside edge the first time it brushes...

Wanted Seeking Halcyon Eclipse 30lb wing cover.I’ll take one even in bad conditi

Look in to this. My 15 year old 30lb wing's cover just started (literally) coming apart at the seams, top and bottom within a couple weeks of each other. I asked last week and was told it'll be covered by warranty.

    COVID Air Travel Experiences?

Several flights here. International into Honolulu, on to San Fransisco. I was overseas when it was really kicking off, arriving in Honolulu shortly after they initiated a quarantine, so the domestic legs of travel were very unique and uncertain. Lots of canceled flights, it took a few days to...

    Excursion Gauge Mode Questions

Thanks for trying it out Jerry! I forgot I'd posted this thread. Landon replied via email and confirmed what you did: top line is depth, just a typo in the manual. The reset button resets both stopwatch and average depth at the same time, and they cannot be reset separately. Kind of a bummer...

I thought I was done living paycheck to paycheck

The unfortunate truth is that this is extremely common post-disaster. I used to volunteer with a disaster response organization, and we were often the first group of folks allowed in after the legitimate first responders. Most of the time, we were allowed in well before property owners even...

I thought I was done living paycheck to paycheck

Knowing people who can provide quality work makes a huge difference. "Back home," I know who's who in the trades, so getting quality work reliably is easy, and often times comes down to trading labor plus material cost. Living in California, where I have no history, I'm pretty much limited to...
