    St Maartin Cruise Ship diving

I will be in port Saturday, Feb4th on the Carnival Victory ship. I looked forward to doing a scuba excursion, but the ship bookings seem to cater to inexperianced divers. Are there any recommendations for me?

Comments re: "Dive Palancar" at Allegro Hotel and Occidental Grand Hotel -Punta Sur

Sorry I forgot to follow up on this thread. I also have booked Jeremy at Living Underwater. He will bring you back with 200psi, lots of bottom time. Better keep your eye on your computer! ProDive needed to learn more of what they have as to "Spot on spot" attractions, this will come with time. I...

Pro-Dive was planning to offer free Nitrox, their O2 mix just was not quite in tolorance in April. As I understood, they were (are) blending their own Nitrox

Comments re: "Dive Palancar" at Allegro Hotel and Occidental Grand Hotel -Punta Sur

I spent a week there in April, Pro-Dive had just began operations. Nitrox was not being used yet. So, what gives? Are they still at the Allegro? How common are CO issues? How is a diver to know if shops are checking for CO? We did a Cenote Dive and stopped in the middle of a jungle "where the...

    Cavern Diving, Mayan Riviera

I have been a return diver to Cozumel and never pass a chance to go to Playa and do a cenote. Playa Scuba Center is the shop I will return to. Klaus picked me up at the pier and his laid back personal demeanor was outstanding. Randy

Just returned from Allegro/Pro Dive trip. I would highly recommend them. All Instructors that take out small groups and give personal service. Safe and secure. I plan to return. Randy

    OceanLog USB cable

The transfer problem is due to the flakey connection to the DC. The Aeris cable works. I have never seen a Oceanic USB cable, but the Aeris DC "port" looks the same.

    OceanLog USB cable

Any more info would be appreciated by me as well. I work in the industry as well and cannot see what is up here. I borrowed a buddies Aries cable and downloaded my PP2 a few years ago, but now the software say's comms established, then just times out without transferring dives.

How do you tell a reputable diveshop online?

I just returned from a dive trip and felt the need to follow rule number one in diving: If it does not feel right, don't do it. I got lucky and walked in off the street to a shop that saved my trip, and the owner of the "other" shop refunded my deposit so I am not going to name names, but...

Anyone getting oversize fine for Akona Bag

We get weighed all the time in Chicago. I have been fined $25 for two pounds. Cu Inches is something I would end up "discussing" if it was close and the fine is $100 for size on AA.

Anyone getting oversize fine for Akona Bag

I am flying AA from Ohare to Cancun in two weeks. I need my dive gear bag! If I measure it just right it is a couple cubic inches under the max if I only use the main compartment. $100 fine each way..... Has anyone been busted?

    Living Underwater Review

I dove with Jeremy last February. my group chartered the boat for the week. Our diveshop instructor arranged the trip. He has been traveling 17 years, usually two trips per year. His comments were Jeremy is the safest DM he has ever dove with! We were all somewhat experienced divers and offered...

    Dive computers

I dive for enjoyment and social interaction along the way. My DC allows me more bottom time and no stress of making a mistake on multiple dive profiles etc. using tables. Besides, I love Gadgets, he who has the most toys wins ;-)

Dangers of diving in cold water?

Thanks All, esp 1T and Kompressor. I posed my question to DAN and recieved an excellent reply along with three .pdf's, reports from excellent studies. To sum up I will continue to hang in there with the "dry suit weenies". I love to get wet, and the cold water is refreshing. I also think it is...

Dangers of diving in cold water?

Hey Kompressor, Saw you want to kick my butt, Also saw you live in Norway and know your stuff about cold water. Here is another reason you may want to kick me. In my younger days I was in Copenhagen in December and fell into the Baltic Sea, drunk. Got a great photo though with the Little...
