Get your OW and then check on an internship at Rainbow Reef. They will take you up through instructor. If you do well, they may hire you at the end of your internship. If not, you should be able to find a job in the Keys. 35K should be plenty to live on. Good luck whatever you decide.

I have both. No big deal. It came with the BC. I could've take the Air2 off, but it's a perfectly good inflator and having it saved a dive for me this spring. My primary was diving wet after service, so I used my octo and still had a functioning alternate. C'est la vie.

Your math is wrong in step 3) Ascent from 200 to 20 is an ascent of 180 feet. That's 6 minutes at 30 fpm. Also, you have to add 20 seconds for the ascent from 20 feet to 10 feet and then another 20 seconds to get to the surface. So theoretically and only as an academic exercise, the run time...

Sounds like you know about the diving. For years I overlooked the Keys. Just got back from Belize and I can tell you that I gained an even greater appreciation for the quality of diving off Key Largo. Enjoy your journey.
