Just being me and curious about it has anyone taken apart a memo mouse to build a replicant? Also will the software off of Uwatec's site work with the simple interface that you built. I do agree that most local dive shops will change it as many times as you would like I changed the alarms...
To bad the shark wasn't much bigger.. say 8-10 feet. The kid might have thought twice about grabbing something that big. And if he did he might have made it in to the Darwin awards.
Well I don't know about the Apeks or the Mares. I do have an Atomic reg and I like it (I tend to hang around up side down a lot Hrmm go figure) any way it dosen't breathe wet like most of the other regs that I tried.
Just my .02¥

Well I am pretty happy with the reg that I have.. But a dry suit now that's the ticket.. ;) I had a wonderful time in the class. And a cute instructor to boot. Now on to bigger and better things.
And thanks for all the support and advice that I have gotten here.

Okay as a newly qualified diver and now one with the aow out of the way.. I would say that the (PADI) AOW should be the minium level for a new diver. I also think they should force the tables and an understanding that this is a serious sport and you can get killed doing something that seems...
Okay I personally use a adaptec 4300 series card it has 3 powered 6 pin ports and comes with a 6pin to 4 pin cable.. All of the DV camera's that I am aware of use the 4 pin cable. I know that some of the pinacle cards are not powered even though they have the 6 pin connector. Because they were...
I have a mid sized knife that I attached to the left shoulder strap on the BC (Dive Rite Transpac II) in an upside down position. I never liked the concept of putting it on my leg. Just a personal preference though.
If you are going to be doing a lot of DV I would suggest using SCSI drives for the actual work process and then the large cheap IDE for massive storage. You will definatly see the diffrence in rendering times. Also if you choose to put in a 1394 card ( If the box doesn't come with one) Or you...
The shop that I frequent is not a chain and is a little shop to boot. They definatly are not rolling in cash. It happens to be the shop that I took my open water through and the one that I am signed up for the Advanced classes as well. Surley not the cheepest shop around but the people there are...
In response to King's post of when was the last time that a shop sent you over to someone else.
Well A couple of weeks ago I wanted to buy a perticular dive knife and my local scuba shop dosen't carry that model/brand of knife. Greg ( the good old boy behind the counter) found a shop that did...
Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the computer thats the one that I am looking at getting and I can't seem to find it for less than a grand.
Congrats on the equipment.
I haven't had time to look at all the specs but that computer costs about 1/2 of the models that I have been looking at.. Which worries me a lot. 4 models that I checked out were priced out at about 1000-1450$.. this one is 450$ As far as the rebreathers go when I get that far I will probably...
I want it to make me toast in the morning before I go dive.. =-) But in all seriousness I want to get a computer that will allow me progress as much as possible with out switching computer systems the Abysmal supports air/nitrox/trimix. for about the same cost as the other computers that only do...
