    Floating feet?

I don't dive with any weight in a 5mm wetsuit, hood and booties. I've tried quite a few types of fins, and my feet still float. If I'm face down I'm ok but the moment I hover in the sitting position my feet start rising. When I initially started diving it bothered me and I tried moving the...

    Southern Africa dive sites

Ag no man!! I would have been highly pi**ed off if my gear didn't arrive. On the plus side at least it did pitch and didn't disappear completely. Even without your complete rig, your pics are fantastic!! Just looking at the viz makes me wish I was back on those wrecks right now.

    Southern Africa dive sites

The only place I've been offered a night dive in Moz was at Simply Scuba in Ponta De Oura. We've done at least two night dives every time I've been there and diving Doodles, Creche or Checkers at night is quite a calm, easy dive with lots to see. Sorry to hijack this post and get off the...

    Breaking News

Hi John, The new sites sound great, especially KKZEE!! I gotta get up there again sooner than later. MY group of divers had the pleasure of finding Disney Land with Kobi in January. We had the co-ordinates and dropped in about 20 metres from the reef, did one turn on the sand and there it...

    Sea Horse

Excellent, the wrecks were really good, especially the Thistlegorm. Great viz too. The corals are better than what we get in Mozambique but we've got much better fish life. Check out my trip report in the Red Sea forum.

    Sharm Trip Report 4 - 12 June

Andy, I'd definitely go macro. I'm definitely no fish expert but everything we saw was really small except for a turtle. From 15 metres upward the coral garden is outstanding but much the same as we saw on most dives off the liveaboard. We entered about 100 metres from the blue hole (looks alot...

Sinai Divers house reef in Sharm

Hi, I've just got back from Sharm and dived with Sinai Divers. Unfortunately I didn't dive their house reefs as we were on a liveaboard for 8 days and were pretty much dived out by the time we got off the boat. I did have a look at the reef maps and they're really close to shore, there's even...

    Honeymoon destination advice (Oct 08)

iSTRONG, I've not been to Zanzibar (yet) but a few of my mates have and they've said the diving is really good. The olny down side I've heard of is that you can be harassed by hawkers trying to sell curious etc when going outside the hotels. Have a fantastic honeymoon and all the best to you...

    Recommended place in Red Sea

I've just come back from a liveaboard in Sharm and didn't see any sharks, not that we went for shark diving, more of a wreck excursion. If you want to see sharks come to South Africa. During August/September it's the sand tiger's breeding season and they're all over Aliwal Shoal. You can...

AOW-- vital in the Red Sea?

Razmataz78, glad to hear you enjoyed your OW with Sinai Divers, always makes a person feel more confortable when others have had first hand experience. Based on feedback I received from the board, I'm going on a liveaboard trip with them out of Sharm on 5th June, then spending a few days in...

Quick straw poll - Aliwal Shoal or Sodwana?

Andy, that's definitely a valid possibility. In Umkomaas, if you don't dive by boat you don't dive so what choice do you have but to pay up!! I dived the shoal last weekend and it cost R230 a dive, almost the cost of two Cape Town dives!!
