I've heard from a semi-reliable source that the Edmonds Oil Dock will be removed starting Labor Day. First off, any other information about this? I guess the DNR wants it out due to the creosote pilings. And the new Edmonds-Kingston Ferry Dock will be placed in that general area, probably...

On the 15th I was at Edmonds UWP. Probably around 6 feet of vis. Just got out of the water at the Edmonds Oil Dock. I'd say over 35 feet. The particles near the surface were huge. Dead conglomerates of plankton. But they were easy to see past, and at depth it really opened up nicely.

Yesterday (7/07/08) at the Edmonds Oil dock was simply amazing. Over 50 feet, possible 60, oddly it was the shallower water that seemed to have less particulates. While under the dock you would easily see the entire width and probibly like 10 pilings ahead swimming to the north. It will go...

Thanks Kathleen. One last question, how does the weight of the ABS backplate and the aluminum backplate compare, are they pretty close?

Is the Dive Rite ABS backplate compatible with the Translate Harness? I was looking at one at noticed that the 4 slots in the center (for cam straps?) were absent.

Just saw a new dive alert. Has the same ear piercing sound for above water. Turn the knob and it becomes a sub-duck on steroids. I know some people in the past have asked for a all-in-one signaling device that works better than the mini-hammerhead.
