    DIN-Yoke Adapters, reasons to avoid?

I thought the reason for using DIN was so you can smack your reg on an overhead and not have it fall off the tank?

How many of you have had a dive computer fail?

I've had 3 failures in around 500 dives. 1) Aeris Atmos Pro told me I was at 180 with a couple of hours deco . In reality I was at 150 with no deco. 2)Diverite Duo dies during a dive in Ginnie. Early ones had a lot of problems with water leaking through the buttons and causing corrosion. 3)...

Suunto Vyper vs Uwatec Galileo algorithm

Removing the batteries briefly should reset it. Of course it will then consider your N2 loading to be zero,so be careful if you do that.

Please help me understand my computers conservatism : Nitek Q and Buhlmann ZLH16

The Niteq Q is not a recreational computer. It's a multi-gas trimix capable computer, designed for dives with significant decompression requirements.

Please help me understand my computers conservatism : Nitek Q and Buhlmann ZLH16

30/75 is pretty conservative. I use 30/85 on my Shearwater. On NDL dives it roughly correlates to surfacing in the green(not yellow) on my aeris (Oceanic) computer. Can you choose your own gradient factors on the Niteq, or are you stuck with DiveRites choices?

    This kinda disturbs me...

Skimming that "forum" my guess is it's been set up by Living The Dream Divers for the sole purpose of bashing the more established operators on Cayman. Their website is less than impressive. Spellcheck anyone ? <<Do you have a dive shop? Yes! We have a small but awesome store /...

Is it possible to exhibit signs of skin DCS during the working portion of a dive?

Huh. Predator default is 30/85. http://www.shearwater.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Pursuit_Manual_1_9.pdf (page 6) Wonder why it changed? I use 30/85 and haven't been bent yet. There again, I haven't swam to the Champagne bottle either !

Is it possible to exhibit signs of skin DCS during the working portion of a dive?

Isn't the factory setting 30/85 ? Sounds like a great dive. Good to see I'm not the only one that doesn't like scooters ! :D

Grand Cayman Diving - Sunset House as good as it sounds?

I did a course some years ago with Divetech. IMHO being able to do course dives from shore is a real advantage. Take as long as needed on the classroom stuff, then go dive when ready. Not having to fit in with a boat schedule is great.

Grand Cayman Diving - Sunset House as good as it sounds?

Try searching: "Sunset House" should get 4 pages of hits. My opinion: O.K. Shore dive. Nice view from the bar. Too close to town. Did not care for the dive shop staff. (but that may have changed)

Treatment of a suspected victim of decompression Sickness outside Recompression Chamb

If I ever found myself in that situation you guess correctly. I absolutely would try IWR. Chances of it working without O2 seems minimal though. But if you have no other choice.............

In think in the situation you described the diver is basically screwed. Interesting story involving IWR here. Confessions of a Mortal Diver

How many fatal shark attacks to stop you diving

You just don't get it Jim. ITS FOR THE CHILDREN ! If it saves just one child's life, then surely it's worth killing a million sharks ?
