    Belize in November

My wife and I were married in November 2002 right on the beach in AC. Perfect weather for almost two weeks, and perfect water temp and viz on every dive. Matt :)

GUE requiring DIR-F as of June 1st

Well, lessee, there are several options here if changing the course over to pass/fail (or graded with a cutoff level): 1. Keep the course exactly the same, don't change the amount of material or the duration. 2. Lessen the amount of material, keep the duration the same. 3. Keep the...

How is everyone doing in the midst of this storm?

White-out conditions here in Nahant (basically an island, east of Boston) since about 2 o'clock this afternoon. I think the Causeway is going to be closed tonight due to the moon, high tide, and storm surge, so we'll be stuck on the rock while we sleep. Should be messy, but manageable, when we...

Anyone going to the Boston Scuba Show?

Hey all, Anyone going to the Boston Scuba Show on Saturday? (2/15) I'm thinking of heading down to check it out, and would be happy to meet some of you face to face. Also, for those of you that know more about it than I do (which is basically just time and location), what time does...

    3 days until Belize

I'll "third" the postitive comments for Protech Belize. I mostly dealt with Peter Jones and he's extremely professional, knowledgable, and courteous. I've actually even been keeping in touch with Peter over email since I got back. We've had some great discussions about tech diving and where...

    3 days until Belize

Ahem, Been back from Belize for exactly 12 weeks, 4 days, 11 hours, and 14 minutes. Still dreaming of warm breezes, aqua water, Belikins, golf carts, hungry nurse sharks, lazy casts of the fishing rod, and floating along a gorgeous reef taking pictures at 70 ft wearing only a t-shirt due to...

The assimilation begins... Resistance seems futile

(tries doing it with his own hands) Ah, makes good sense, yes :) So, why not swap the configuration of the canister and the stage bottles to keep the wire from crossing the body? To keep from interfering with the SPG? Matt

The assimilation begins... Resistance seems futile

I'm still having a hard time coming up with a reason as to why having the cannister on the right side, and the light head on the left is a better configuration. I would think that keeping the entire apparatus on the right side would be simpler to keep in order, and less-likely to get in the way...

    Hawksbill Turtle Pix

Paul, Sweet shots! I love the spotted moray...too bad his head was in the reef! What kind of camera did you use to take these shots? Also, what's the cross on the seafloor all about? Matt

How many on this board use or have used OMS equipment ?

I love the OMS logo -- it's pretty cool looking.... so will probably pick up their utility pouch when I put together my rig this spring... :) Haven't really considered their other gear, but it's not for any particular reason -- just haven't gotten around to taking a good look, yet. Matt

    Going to Belize in February

We found a couple of places that had live music yes. Particularly Fido's -- they had a great cheese-rock cover band one night. Even had mullets to boot! Speaking of Fido's, there was this one guy that hung around outside that always tried to jump into our golf cart when we parked. He'd...

    Going to Belize in February

I second Gaz's recommendation of a night dive at Hol Chan. My wife and I were married on AC in November 2002, and we did a lot of diving while we were there, including a couple at both Hol Chan and Cyprus Canyons. The night dive at Hol Chan was amazing. We got to see parrot fish lying on...

    Belize or Bay Island Honeymoon

Hi there, My wife and I were married at Victoria House at the south end of Ambergris Caye, where we also spent our honeymoon after the family and friends went back to the states. We found the resort to be simply amazing. It's beautiful, the staff is courteous and helpful, and it's just...

Looking for information on Helium industry

Does anyone have any links or information pertaining to current players in the Helium industry's private sector? Also, I'm looking for info on what the government is intending to do with the national helium reserve (~46 billion cu.ft.) now that the reorganization has taken place...
