Wanted Stainless Steel Watchband for Suunto Spyder

I'm looking for a stainless steel watchband for my Suunto Spyder OR just the part that the arrow is pointing to. I lost the end piece when the watchband pin came loose underwater. Thanks !

    Sending $$ to Cozumel

I also use Xoom. The first time I sent money, they called me three times during the day with questions. Safeguards on their end, making sure your phone number is legit, and that they're dealing with the same person and you're not running a scam. Get the recipient's name exactly, and send the...

Spring Lake closed until further notice due to coronavirus

Michael--You get it. Diving doesn't have to close, and being underwater is the safest place from coronavirus. However, Meadows Center (Spring Lake) is under the Texas University System, so they have to follow the school's rules. Spring Lake sent me an email, and followed up with a voicemail...

Indiana woman dies diving Vandenberg - Key West, Florida

    Sargasso.

I can see how the sargasso disappoints tourists. When I visited during the summer, the east side had piles of it, but nature happens. Growing up as part-time farm girl, I am used to "nature happens."

Current Status of Fill Station Owned/Operated by Stathis

If I do multiple dives maxing the green zone, I have problems. I could be more more susceptible to being bent since it's happened before, don't really know. Needless to say, I dive very conservatively on my computer, and it's working :)

Current Status of Fill Station Owned/Operated by Stathis

I have the Pro Plus 2 that I purchased in 2006 when I was certified. And mine has green, yellow and red gradations. After seeing the chamber doctor in Nassau, I now do longer safety stops and slower ascents. After a dive where I've been deep, I'll come up much shallower and hang out there for...

Current Status of Fill Station Owned/Operated by Stathis

I got bent when it was in the yellow (caution zone). My previous 4 dive profiles were shallow, deep, shallow, deep, and too much bottom time; it caught up with me. Now to be on the safe side my personal limit is 7 of the 9 gradations in the safe zone. If I reach the max in the safe zone, I...

Current Status of Fill Station Owned/Operated by Stathis

When I dive past my cutoff (even though the computer sez I'm still okay) I get bent.

My computer is an Oceanic and I have to dive more conservatively than it says.

    Coz Tanks & O-Rings

One trip I found low amounts of CO in tanks at Blue Angel. They took care of it and all their tanks have been squeaky clean since.

    Coz Tanks & O-Rings

I haven't experienced any leaky o-rings. Anywhere I dive, though, I'm concerned about the quality of the air, so I test every tank for carbon monoxide.

    Solo diving in Coz....

The shore diving from Dive Paradise is some of the best. There is a wide variety of critters and spiny urchins too numerous to count. It's a rather benign dive. I go south into the current to the (ferry?) pier, then let the current take me back north to my exit point, which is the shallow...

    Solo diving in Coz....

If you lose weights at depth, then you're underweighted and rocks come in real handy. Getting down while slightly underweighted isn't that difficult, but when I was a newish diver, ascending with an empty tank made it impossible to do a safety stop at 15 feet -- the DM had to hold me in place...

    Solo diving in Coz....

A couple things in your post caught my attention because my solo diving is similar to Caruso's. Diving in Texas, our vis in lakes is usually very low, and I solo dive in those conditions because I don't want to keep up with a buddy who is barely visible for most of the dive. I've also grabbed...

    Carbon monoxide found in tanks

I have a CO analyzer and test every tank before diving, whether it's from my local shop, Cozumel, Aruba, you get the idea. Mine is an Analox, which isn't manufactured anymore.

    Solo diving in Coz....

I see a marketing niche emerging--a certification for Cozumel solo diving. Of course, we'd want the local dive businesses to be on board and honor it. The course would address and remedy the concerns that Coz ops have against solo diving (which I can't determine yet because the excuses given...
