    Harness advice

LOL MSilvia I dive in the lakes mostly. BP is 2 pounds while STA is 4 pounds. I usually need only 3 pound weight belt with AL80 tank and 3mil wet. For the salt water diving (Gulf Of Mexico) used HP100 steel tank. So steel BP will only be needed for diving in a 5/7mil wet or dry during the winter.

    Harness advice

IQ Pack can work as a soft pack BC, but I do have aluminum back plate "inserted" into it. However, webbing is not even threaded through the back plate. BP is there just for additional weight and rigidity, and STA is mounted to it as well. I've just got in touch with instructor who clarified...

    Harness advice

there is no way to take and re-use existing webbing from the IQ Pack. See http://omsdive.com/backplate.html#IQ. So I'm just going to try one piece harness finally. tnx for advice

    Harness advice

my wing is not bungied. I guess it's time to get one piece harness. I don't want to scare instructor to death with IQPack's quick releases and padding ;)

    Harness advice

Currently overhauling my gear to get it DIR-ready. I currently dive OMS IQPack with aluminum BP, STA and OMS 32lb wing. My understanding is that IQPack doesn't satisfy DIR-F class requirements since it's not a single piece harness. 1. Is it mandatory to have a harness with no releases? 2. Any...

    DIN regulator advice

I just did my AOW check-out dives with the brand new DR RG-2500. Love it! Breathes very well up to 100 ft (we didn't go any deeper). DIN is the way to go with HP steel tanks. Kudo's to Phil at diversports.com.

    DIN regulator advice

first, thanks for the advice! Dive Rite RG-2500 is my top choice at the moment. Too bad I can't get one into my hands before ordering it since local shops don't have it in stock. My LDS suggested to consider Atomic Z2. Do Atomic's breethe much better than DR's?

    DIN regulator advice

Looking to buy a DIN regulator which is the only piece of diving equipment i don't own. Requirements: DIN only (travel to Europe every year), balanced, warm water, sealed 1st stage is a plus(less maintenance supposedly?), budget is 450$. Narrowed down my choice to the following models: 1...

Tnx, Tobin. I have never had integrated weight BC, so weight belt is cool with me.
