Is there an e/o cable on it? Sometimes the switches can go bad and this is one of the symptoms. Also could be a short in the cable? What is the battery voltage? What about when it is being fired up? Could be a battery dropping a cell.

You have an old pro 6 can with 10w HID head. I have spare parts cheap if you want to bring it back to life. The battery packs are cheap to replace. They were build to be solid and easy and inexpensive to fix. The bulbs and ballasts have become harder to get lately but they are still fun to play...
