Cave Diver- I just registered a few months ago. I have read some threads from Texas Swamp but haven't had the chance to meet anyone yet. Would like to at some point. There are more TX divers than I would have thought! :)

The springs will be nowhere near that cold. They maintain a constant year-round temperature around 71F I was there in late December. Air temp was very cold but water felt great! I wore a 5ml and my buddy a 3ml. I have yet to be cold in springs and could easily dive with less protection.

I use DR reels. I like them very much. They can jam easily if you are not careful but with minimal practice that can be avoided. I carry mine up around my hips on my back. Keeps them from dragging in the mud. I have made mo modifications ecxept to add a ball to the end of the primary. As...

I have found that just rinsing my suit out after diving in salt water works just fine. Mine has been everywhere and is holding up just fine. Hope that you havea great trip!

I wore a shorty for warm diving similar to yours but could just have easily gone without a suit at all. It did provide me with some protection from the elements, though. The next time I do any warm diving I plan to wear only a skin for pure protection. Have a great trip. You'll love it!

The only decent diving in that area that I am aware of is at Lake Terrell. Athens Scuba Park is another option but I wouldn't recommend diving there.
