    Majuro, Marshall Islands

Great news! I just got in touch with some people and apparently there IS a shop open and running right now, in addition to the boats the Reimers have. Look up Raycrew at raycrew?????????????????????????????????????????????? I haven't yet heard from them, but it looks promising. Anyway, you say...

    Majuro, Marshall Islands

Hey Danny! I know this is an old post, but are you on-island? I and a colleague will be in Majuro in August and I'm having a hard time finding diver operators. Thanks!

    Problem at Gilboa 4/21

I've heard that you don't have to worry about icing unless you take a breath from your reg when it's dry and above water when the temp is less than 32. Any idea how true it is? Either way, deep condolences to their family and community.

    Residue in first stage- help!

So I took both the tank and reg in today. At first, they thought it was salt, but then took the tank apart, and yep- oxide was all over the sides with about 2" of water at the bottom. So they're going to clean it out and look at it thoroughly. The vip and hydro were both current and I've...

    Residue in first stage- help!

That's my plan. I know one of the people who works there, so that'll give me a leg up if nothing else :-)

    Residue in first stage- help!

I was wondering if it was Al oxide...the stuff in the reg is powdery. And no worries- I def. won't be diving it until this is sorted out... Agreed.

    Residue in first stage- help!

Hey everybody- I did two dives today with rental tanks from a local place. First dive was fine- reg worked great, and the first stage was clear before and after it. The second dive, I used a different tank from the same place. My first stage was clear before and the reg breathed beautifully...

    Who Still Sells the PT-030

Amazon.com still has them, and I'm pretty sure there are a few floating around ebay. I haven't found anything cheaper than around $180. Maybe someone on here has one to sell?

Which BC: Oceanic Excursion, Aeris Atmos or the Knight hawk?

If you want to go the tech route, you'll probably find a lot of good press about BP/W setups. I have an Aeris Atmos, and love it! But based on the kind of diving you want to get into, it probably isn't what you're looking for. I'll let others chime in on what options might be better :D

WTB: Oly 5060 or SP-350 Housing

I did see that, but I don't think I'm going for ikelite just yet. But I'll keep it in mind for sure.

    Mares Regulator??

    Pretty much sums it up.

    Mares Regulator??

I have a v16 metal, and am pretty happy with it. I've taken it to about 80', and it seems to breathe well at all those depths. I've also noticed that I don't ever end up with a dry mouth when diving with it...something I dislike about a lot of other plastic regs. I also like how there is no...

WTB: Oly 5060 or SP-350 Housing

Hey all- After some research, I think I'm looking to get one of the above cameras for my first uw setup. I'm going to look on ebay for the camera itself (unless one of you has one for real cheap!) but if you've got a housing for either one, let me know. I'm thinking ikelite is going to be too...
