I was very comfortable in my Trilam last February using only a light base layer. Didn't bring my major thermals (Weasel). Other divers were in 7mm and got chilled.

I found this annual water temperature chart and also this one. They seem to very a bit but both point to cooler temps in the winter.

Thanks Jay, I think I'll stay dry. I took a 3/2mm to Philippines in February and was chilled enough to buy a hooded vest. I'm so accustomed to diving dry that I have a startle reflex when I'm in a wetsuit and the water comes in. (cold water diver syndrome). Cheers

The last of the dry docks only sank this winter. Jan or Feb. We dived on the three that were already on the bottom using a transect line tied to the remaining floater. Came back a couple of weeks later and the final one had sunk and it couldn't have cleared another by much as they were close...

As far as I can tell there are no commercial dive ops on Haida Gwaii. There are some commercial operations serving industry with hard hat diving but nothing recreational. Pity. This area is part of a huge marine reserve and must have really cool diving.
