Sevylor XK 2020 DiveYak for sale

We are now a multi-kayak family, and I am going to sell the DiveYak. New was $700. I'll sell it for 450. It is a very durable inflatable kayak, in great shape, treated well, with no leaks. I have stored it indoors and have rinsed, dried and aired it well. It has had only light use, I think...

Ascent rate monitoring using air bubbles?

Great topic! I was cert'd in 1974 when 60 ft/minute was acceptable ascent. Took a long break and got back in the water about 5 years ago with new equipment and the revised more conservative deco/ascent data. Although I have a good computer with digital depth, I dislike it. I'm very...

    Sevylor Diveyak XK2020

Wow Jeff, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I was so enthusiastic about mine, and I still am. I did however approach it gradually. I agree that the tracking is not so great, but that's when compared to another boat. I accepted that and adapted my paddling to get over it. I think...

CA GAME CLOSURES: MLPA. Time running out to comment!

Hey everyone- Whatever your stance on spearfishing, abalone or other CA ocean fishing and harvesting, time is running out for public comment on Fish and Game coastal closures. If youve (attempted) to read through the involuted, interest conflicting, special interest motivated tones and...

    Are Kayaks Dangerous?

Yeah you guys- thanks for mentioning this - one more thing. In my first research prior to getting my yak, I heard harrowing tales of divers coming up to find no boat, and sometimes even to find it out by finding their anchor as they prepared to ascend...without an anchor line attached. It...

    Are Kayaks Dangerous?

I've had a kayak for about a year. I have two things to share. One is on attitude of safety. The other is why I arrived at my own boat choice in light of it. To the point, I think a yak can be even more safe than kicking out, especially if it's out far enough. And arriving rested even as...

So this is why I need to pee so often?

Fantastic! Thanks you guys. I have always heard that, that clear urine = right hydration. Is it that we're always so dehydrated that it feels *abnormal* to have to pee so much, and so urgently when there's finally enough fluid moving through the system to be clear? Just curious on that one...

So this is why I need to pee so often?

Hey Docs- Wow, fantastic read! Thanks so much for 'splaining' us, the hormonal and pressure reasons for mondourination. Here on the CA Northcoast, the water is 45-49F. We do significant surface surface swims to and from in varied wind/swell conditions that can in themselves keep you in...

    I'm COLD!!!

Yo Kelpdiver- Here's a fun trick. Buy a couple of rechargeable warmers that you can slip into your suit just before you jump in the water. You'll find them on the internet under "reusable hand warmers". If your suit back-zips, get the biggest you can find, because you won't be able to put in...

Hey all, Good topic. Get this thing-it is really great. I LOVE this thing. It is called Sinus Rinse. Company is Neilmed. Longs Drugs and other stores here in the San Francisco Northbay area sell them, and by now you can probably buy them online too. This is not just a saline spray. It...
