Suggestions on a compressor for home/business use

I gotta put my two cents in here, Sealark...I think you may not have been around long enough to know who Iain is, surely he is not 'Buddy" Perhaps one of the most knowledgeable and respected members here, with a huge count of amazingly useful and accurate posts. He is, as I recall a compressor...

Suggestions on a compressor for home/business use

At the moment there is a max air 90 on ebay for about $3000, I have 2 of these and a Bauer K-14, the max air is not a Bauer, but it will do the job for a very reasonable price..I have been thinking of buying it just to have it. ---------- Post added October 29th, 2015 at 04:05 AM ----------...

    DIY Containment System Suggestions Needed

I think the o.p. does not quite realize the force exerted by a cylinder letting go. Stick with the steel pipe, if you must butcher some wood, do it for concrete forms, and figure wall thickens at around 6 inches. ( Don`t forget the rebar ! ) You are gonna blow matchsticks and have a sandstorm...

    Life of a Bauer K14 P-41 Filter

I think the O.P. was asking about the life of the filter sitting in the tower with so little use after so long..Junk it for no particular reason then the fact that it has been sitting there...Could have liquid water in it which would have degraded the M.S. creating a solution that will damage...

    Bauer Capitano pumping very slow

Get an IR gun and check each cylinder...post the temperatures, when it has run a good long time, note the hottest spot you can find on each stage and ambient temperature, ask here for somebody with the same compressor for their numbers. One running too hot, intake valve of the next cylinder...

    Bauer Capitano pumping very slow

No pressure in the crankcase, no blow by, not rings...But remember most crankcases are vented into the first stage, as there will always be SOME blow by, which must be vented. Usually fed into the first stage generally before the first stage valves to lubricate them. Every compressor I have...

Abuse of marine life by Scuba Schools of America.

I wrote to SSI about this clown about some videos posted on you tube, horrible stuff with ol rusty mauling an octopus. They stand behind this clown 100%. Well, glad I do not teach SSI anymore.

    Bauer Capitano pumping very slow

Auto drains ? By pass the dump solenoid then pressurize it and shut it off listen for leaks on the pump, I had slow fill problems with one of mine and it had some serious leaks on the plumping on the pump. if you have stage pressure gauges a low one will be a give away. Yeah rings could be bad...

    New here with new compressor

I have all the manuals... Photos of the unit will help, along with motor size, but it may have been changed if the compressor has been down rated. or contact Ray Contraras at Compressor stuff. USA distributor...nice guy has all parts..He can look it up in the books based on serial number...

    Dew point of scuba air

I think it indicates damn dry gas, especially if you are using a 10/20/30...as i recall the filter strips are 40%.. I gotta admit, my thermodynamics goes to bed long before I do.. some serious goof ups and outright errors on my part, anyway... Give Mike Casey a ring at Lawrence factor. I know...

    Dew point of scuba air

Ahh..going back a few posts.. Okay, lets go back to compressors 101... Start here. Understanding SCUBA Compressors and Filtration I quote you here and address these assumptions and questions below. That is only changed by the Pressure Maintaining Valve setpoint and the ambient air...

    Dew point of scuba air

Jeez..I gotta sleep more...P Point is even if your suppliers are pumping dry air, if they are filing wet, they are very likely gonna get water in your tanks...so....if it is not you it is them.

    Dew point of scuba air

just click drop box link...will open a browser window with the file.. If you are chilling your air, have enough filtration, enough dwell time, likely you have OCA as I do, with out a hyper filter. If all else is good, the moisture is coming form those foreign fills. If any of these shops is...

    Dew point of scuba air

something for real, like this...but put a pmv on it as well as a micronic filter. Have them fill it slow, about a 20 miniute fill, 6 cfm or so. This one is cheaper and smaller and includes the no return valve... MaVoTec Nitrox-Clean Filter - DiveSupport GmbH Or do it for real

    Dew point of scuba air

PMV pressure will increase the efficiency of the filter you have...If you are testing your air and coming up with high numbers, despite the small pump..you likely need more filtration or more dwell time..if you are rusting from your own fills, AND you are testing high for moisture assuming all...

    Dew point of scuba air

How do you do everything right ??? Why nobody took on that part I have no idea, but here you go. Lots of debate on how you get there...but one fundamental across the board fact, dwell time. The amount of time the air is in contact with the adsorbent. More time, more moisture is removed. I can...

HELP - Mako drying filter holder identification

Photos always help... and a call to Mako will probably put you on the right track the fastest. Or just measure what you have and buy locally if available. Better yet, if you have a local supplier bring the old rings to match up... Buy a few slightly over and undersize, they cost peanuts in case...
